The forum looks great @Ueda! I like that it is easier on the eyes. I never like forums that has everything super bright. Hopefully you can add a way to customize textbox backgrounds and a light/dark mode switch. Ranks and badges are good motivators to have more forum communication going on. Another great idea are avatar borders.

Dear Ninja, Over the last couple of days, along with a major engine update that you can learn about in our patch notes, I've been upgrading the forum community software to the latest version of Invision Community. This brought about a bunch of new features for us to use. New Features There's all new Ranks on the forum used to display the seniority of members active in the forum community as well as Badges that are like forum missions. Ranks progress linearly based on content count (Topics, Posts, Status Updates etc.) Badges are earned by completing achievements, or can also be given out manually by Game Masters and Staff in the future for competitions (eg. Winning a Best Dress Contest) As an example, click here to view my Ranks & Badges. Gold & Silver Ninja can continue to upload profile songs. But with even more customization options! You now have the option to upload up to 3 songs that will play back to back. You can also change the accent color of the music player and choose whether or not it auto-plays when people visit your profile. While the new Corporation System replaces Official Organizations in-game and a separate guild system will be added later to replace Player Organizations in-game, we've also added a new way for players to congregate and organize themselves. Introducing the new Clubs system, which comes with a whole host of features that I haven't even explored fully myself. This is a completely forum grouping system for players to subscribe to groups where they can have private group discussions, or disseminate news to everyone. An example of this would be to create a Club for players who like to Spar in a specific location at a specific time, getting this information out there so new members can join your activity. With the new upgrade to Cloud-based player saves in the last update, it is now possible for us to use data online to create cool features like the Leaderboards. We can also display things like Server Blessing status, who blessed it, in the future, all on the web or even on Discord. We will also be able to do cool things like display the player's character on the web some day in the future. For the time being, we've used this to create a real-time web leaderboard that you can access here. There's a lot more small changes such as a new layout for the homepage with news (finally) displaying with it's full content. But these are largely design changes. So last and not least, my favorite part of this forum upgrade... Styling Overhaul I've finally sat down to spend the last 2 days upgrading the forum skin, layouts and stylings to be a lot more professional and modern. The old look served us well over the last 2 years, but it was due for an upgrade, and one to match a lot of the new design language we've established for our branding. There's a lot of care put into making sure the design stayed familiar enough to the old one, while making it look fresh and fixing a lot of the annoyances I had with the last one. I also generally went darker with the site, so that it's a lot more like a dark mode site. As of this moment, it's a little troublesome to maintain two versions of the forum styling, and a lot of the post content to date has been designed for white layouts, so it's in our best interest to keep the content background white. Emoji We now support usage of Web Standard (Twitter Style) Emoji, along with the custom ones we've always had. If you input ":" into the textbox and type, it will bring up suggestions! Optimization I can confirm that Invision Community's latest version is loading quicker than ever. Along with that, I've upgraded some of the underlying web technologies that we use. Nin Online's forum launched in 2013... so we were running on very legacy MySQL settings. As of now, it should start running a lot faster than before. Conclusion I hope the Nin Online forum will remain a nice place for players to have discussions about Nin Online or just chill and meet friends. While it is true that most of our audience is now on Discord, I also think that the permanence of discussions in our forum has it's use case and appeal. We want to keep suggestions for example, on a platform where we can neatly refer, rank and remember them for a long time. Also, every player of Nin Online is automatically a member of the forum, so that's a big plus! We hope you like it. Regards, Ueda To discuss this announcement, click on our discussion thread below.

Dear Ninja, The Community Manager and the two current Kage, @Deathmall Sasayaki and @TetsuHawk, invite you on March 24, 2018 to join us in celebrating the world of ninja in a full day of festivities and celebration. The ninja festival is a 24 hour event that will begin with the opening ceremony and end with an advanced placement-style PvP tournament. Throughout the day, there will be GM hosted events that you may participate in, and the Kage will have 1,500 Tokens each to divide up as prizes and host their own village-specific events when there is no other events happening to keep the day flowing and active. They will be required to fairly host events to give out these tokens, if they do not use all the tokens, they will be requested to return the amount unused to the GMs (so encourage them to host plenty of events). This festival, we'll be having a new exclusive item called the Dragon Festival Mask. This mask can be obtained for 1,000 Festival Tokens which are a token currency exclusive for the ninja festivals, and may be exchanged for event items at the "Festival Shop" in each village. The shop will be available at 12:00 A.M. EST and will be removed at 11:59 P.M. EST on March 24. Festival Token The festival token is engraved with a dragon's head, and can be used in any future festivals, so stock up - even after you purchase what you want. To obtain these shiny little tokens, you must either participate in events or farm the following mobs: Wolves/Coyotes, Scorpions, Tunnelers, Scarabs (Big/Small), Tigers, White Tigers, Snakes (Bottom and Top), Bears, and Snow Wolves. The drop rate is similar to that of the primary item they drop. For example, a Festival Token will drop at the same rate as snake venom in Snakes, or fur in Tigers. There are plenty of options, so make sure you get to farming! Dragon Festival Mask The dragon mask comes in two colors: Red and Black. Each one is 1,000 Festival Tokens. There will be a present box in the square of your village to claim these masks and other items for tokens. Throughout the day, we'll be having events for you to participate in. All events are 100% Mandatory Peaceful unless stated fighting can be done. Any attacks on the event are subject to jail time. Opening Ceremony - 12:00 A.M. EST We invite you to join us for the first hour to be apart of the opening ceremony that your Kage and I will be hosting to initiate the festival. This ceremony will happen at every festival and any roleplay announcements may be made here by your village officials. This is also a time for you to ask questions, learn more about the event, and roleplay with other ninja. Early Morning Delivery - 3:00 A.M. EST to 5:00 A.M. EST 3:00-4:00 - Leaf Village Delivery 4:00-5:00 - Sand Village Delivery In the next hour, your village will be instructed to deliver a message to the GM hosting the event. During this delivery mission, the defending village may prevent you from getting to the mission location (so long as they are not camping anywhere near the mission location). Anyone who gets to the GM within the hour will receive 100 Festival Tokens. The event will end at 3:59 and 4:59 respectively. (Mission explanation will take about 5 minutes, and you must deliver the correct message.) Hide and Seek - 12:00 P.M. EST to 1:00 P.M. EST For 1 hour, Game Masters will be rotating locations and giving out hints for Hide and Seek. Each ninja to find the location first and find the GM will receive 100 Festival Tokens (only once per person, if the same person keeps getting 1st, then the following ninja to find the GM will get the prize). Ninja Dance Party - 6:00 P.M. EST to 7:00 P.M. EST Every ninja may gather at Tanzaku Quareters (near the entrance of the castle by all the trees) and join us in a temporary Discord channel where music will be playing and you may dance around, socialize, etc. Random Festival Token prizes will be given out throughout the dance party, and we'll likely try to give it to the most lively dancers. If you need a guide on how to dance like a professional, some fellow ninja will help you learn da wae: Ninja Festival Trials (Pre-Registration) - 7:00 P.M. EST to 7:30 P.M. EST Begin gathering near the Tanzaku Quarters entrance to the Castle (same place we danced at) so that we can gather information. You should beforehand acknowledge that there is a small fee of 500 Ryo to enter the Ninja Festival Trials. Ninja Festival Trials (Registration) - 7:30 P.M. EST to 8:00 P.M. EST Game Masters will begin collecting your entry fee, and teleporting you into the waiting area. Ninja Festival Trials (Fights) - 8:15 P.M. EST to N/A The rest of the night, we will be sending you into bracket-made matches against other ninja to show off your skill. Advanced Placement To make things even more exciting, these placement matches will be within certain level ranges, and two prize pools are available for both brackets. 1st Bracket: 30-50 2nd Bracket: 10-29 (must be level 10 to enter) Prizes (For Both Brackets) 1st Place - 1,000 Festival Tokens 2nd Place - 750 Festival Tokens 3rd Place - 500 Festival Tokens All participants will receive a participation prize of 75 Festival Tokens. This prize will be given to you upon paying for your entry into the tournament. Village Specific Events Your Kage will be announcing their own events whenever they'd like beforehand on the forums/discord, so be watching out for those events! Future Ninja Festivals The Ninja Festivals mark the season changes: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. So four times a year, we'll have four different festivals with a new exclusive cosmetic which can be purchased with Festival Tokens. So if you have left over tokens, make sure to save them for future festivals! Summer Festival - June 23, 2018 Autumn Festival - September 22, 2018 Winter Festival - December 22, 2018 Best Regards, Jessica

Dear Ninja, As many of you may know, I am the new Community Manager of Nin Online, and with that I will be continuously doing my best to improve the community by working with the Administrators and my fellow Game Masters, Moderators, and of course you guys, the community. It is an honor to be able to help improve a community I've been a part of for years now. Now, let's get to the good news! I will be releasing Community Updates/Newsletters about once a month or twice a month depending on how busy the month ends up being for our community and team. The updates will serve as a way to explain to you what's going on in the community and what you can do to be a part of it, and hopefully provide a way for the community to interact with me and other community staff. Forum Contribution Posts We'd like to continue to promote the use of our forums by bringing your attention to an opportunity you can take if you contribute helpful content for the community. Pinned Posts, Forum Contribution, etc. We'd love to see players contributing more and more to the forum through the addition of helpful guides, fan-made projects, etc. We have seen a few recent ones such as @Niti's Official Item Value List and @Origami Heart's Nin Online Beginner Guide. These posts help the community a lot, and are generally worth featuring to our community. So if you come up with a bright idea for something that you could contribute to the community and maintain, we'd love to see it, and if we believe it will truly make the lives of our players easier, we will feature it, and if it's important enough, you could even receive Silver Ninja for the contribution. Discord & Village Chats The Official Nin Online Discord has been an unreliable source for villages to communicate privately and confidently up to this point, making the villages resort to other methods (which is 100% fine), however we want to obviously promote the use of our Discord for village use so that all members of the village who make use of our Official Discord can interact with the Kage and other villagers. We're not saying to stop using your alternative methods, but that this is a fix to make the village chats more reliable and useful for village leaders. With this new update, we'd like to improve all of that, make the Discord feel more useful to our village officials, and give you guys more options when it comes to the village sections on our Discord. We also have heard you about moderation, and village channels now have a dedicated Discord Moderator assigned so that they may peer-moderate your village's channel. Moderation will not be as strict in the village sections to allow for roleplay, but they will be treated the same, such as any OOC offenses can still be moderated. (Not all staff members/moderators will have access to your village channels, only if they belong to that village.) Village Categories Instead of just having the three different channels, we are going to give the Leaf, Sand, and Missing villages a whole category to themselves. The only people who can access each category will be the assigned village members (you can request a Game Master or Moderator to move you into your village role). Each Kage and Council Member will be assigned a role which will give them access to post in the Village Announcements channel and Kage will get access to a channel to contact Game Masters or Administrators. Then, of course, each village will have it's own Voice Lobby which will now be restricted to village ninja only. More voice channels may be requested if the Kage believes it is not enough. Village Announcements This is where the Kage and Council Members can post announcements for their village, only the Kage and Council Members can type and send messages. Village-specific events may also be announced here by Game Masters. Missing Ninja will have no announcements channel as they do not have an affiliation. Village Discussion This is a discussion area for all of the village members. Village Voice Lobby This is a simple voice channel that is now 100% exclusive to people with the village role. If more voice lobbies are needed, we can work something out! Village Roles Kage - This role is only assigned to the Kage of each village. Missing will have no Kage. Council Member - These are the official members of each village's council. Leaf Villagers - Leaf Village Players Sand Villagers - Sand Village Players Missing Ninja - Exiled/Rogue Ninja Village Role Placement In order to receive your role for your village you need to request it in the #support channel on Discord by posting your Nin Online profile link to prove your village status. Beyond this, Kage may decide your role change depending on if you do not belong in that village or have been exiled/gone missing. The Game Masters will do their best to ensure people are being responded to so that we can have accurate role placement for this new update. Event Updates & Plans These past couple of months, you may have noticed we have recruited a few Game Masters. With this increase of In-Game staffing, we hope to see a lot more events and community interaction. We are doing our best to provide consistent events, and even some surprise events. We also want you to know that we are constantly trying to get feedback to improve our events and trying to figure out what events work and when to host them. We understand that for quite some time, events have been very cruel to some timezones. We want you to know we are doing our best to figure out what time works for most of our players without asking players to make sacrifices for certain events. As we increase the amount of events, we will use trial and error to determine what works and what doesn't. Your concerns have been heard, and we are going to work to improve! Holiday Events As the year goes, we would like to host as many holiday-specific events as possible, as they are easiest events to decide on. However, Holiday events can be quite difficult as we want to implement items, updates, and more to accommodate for these events. We hope to be able to do this every holiday, and maybe even add more as we go. Aside from recognized holidays, we also want to host some Ninja World specific events, which we don't want to spoil too much right now, but more information on events like these will be arriving in the coming weeks. These are events that may not be holidays to us, but for Nin Online, they will be scheduled in accordance to the yearly calendar to provide more exciting content for you to enjoy. Weekly & Bi-Weekly Events As you have noticed, @Kanno has begun a Bi-Weekly PvP tournament event and @Jessica (myself) has started Weekly Community Events. These events are being implemented to provide consistent events throughout the month. We'd also like to start having Game Master hosted Roleplay Events, which are events where Game Masters will direct a roleplaying session. A big one we do that everyone is aware of is the Chunin Exams, however, those can only happen so often, so we'd like to host smaller events that can happen weekly to bi-weekly. We hosted one last weekend called Village Invasion, and it turned out really well. We saw a lot more players online, and people seemed to roleplay very well. So with that cooperation, we'd be more than happy to host more events similar to this such as Village Invasions, Village Escort Missions, Village Recovery Missions, etc. As we develop plans for these events, we will release announcements for when they will be held. Upcoming Events If you are not aware yet, the 4th Chuunin Exams are coming up, and we hope you can join us for them. Please click here for more information! Quality of Life Updates Merged In-Game Rules with Rules & Guidelines post. People have been having a hard time locating a rules post made by @Stephen as it was in the Discussion board, but we have merged that post's rules into the Official Rules & Guidelines post. To free up any confusion, these are the main links you should refer to for rules and ToS: Rules & Guidelines Terms of Service and Privacy Policy Monthly Chunin Exams Announced! Rory recently announced that we will finally be doing Chunin Exams monthly. This is something players have been wanting for quite some time now, and they're finally here! Monthly Chunin Exams Best Regards, Jessica

Hello Ninjas! It has been quite some time since you've received a proper "community update" from me as CM and that will definitely be changing moving forward as your captain @Yuko will officially be acting as Community Manager for this community as I continue my ninja journey as a GM. Make sure you're following @Jessica as that will be her acting CM account to stay up to date and involved in all things related to the community and the events being held. As always, we aim to provide the best to those who dedicate and continue to invest their time into this amazing game. Continue to contact the GMs and staff for all your complaints and game related issues still! This does not mean you should destroy our Community Manager's inbox beyond ninja repair. Look forward to seeing everyone's involvement in the events to come! It'll definitely be great. Remember, we are players too! She will make a proper introduction in due time, until then; look forward to it! *Hands awesome community scroll to Jessica*

Fellow Ninjas, As of today, I have joined the team behind this wonderful game as the Community Manager. As @Rory has briefed me over the past few days, the role comes with many responsibilities that will require my time and focus, which I intend to provide. My goal of this announcement is to say hello to the rest of you and step out of the shadow. I hope to work with all of you whom make up and have been deeply involved in the community. Having spent the past 24 hours reading through the forum posts; I can see that the community is filled with unique individuals who will one day become inspirational Ninjas, or a target in the Bingo book. Whichever you will be, I'm sure the new ninjas yet to join us will look up to you as such. I look forward to learning from you all and helping make the Nin Online experience as fun as possible along with the rest of the team in more ways than in the past. Despite being a staff member, I hope to remain active as a member of this community just like everyone else here. All of us here whom have been around, supporting the game's development over the years, we are all like a team, having given feedback and ideas over the years. I know that's how Rory feels as well. With Open Beta coming soon, I'd say our mission is to improve the community where it's a fun place for new players, invite people to come join us, and watch over the community as it grows into something bigger than it was. So I'm looking forward to working with you all! Thank you for taking your time to read this and once again, hey!

Dear Shinobis, The forum just got a handful of new features and updates! Hidden content Use the Hide tags to conceal certain elements until the member has engaged you in the topic. This has been removed. As it was causing forum bugs! Useful BBCodes I've added these bunch of useful BBCodes, hopefully they will come in handy. I like them. This is a error! Error, your computer cannot process red. This provides information. It is pretty damn informative. This is a warning! Be warned. It is very orange. Success comes with the color green. Congratulations! You have successfully posted this Success! Rank Icons These are the forum ranks for normal members along with the sleek icon which comes with each. It isn't that hard Referral CP @Mention System The forum now has a @Mention system, so if you add a "@" and say for example "Whack", the person will be tagged in your post and informed via forum notifications. Dear fellow Ninjas, Today marks the start of our very first community contest in an attempt to help make the Nin Online community a larger place. The goal of this contest is to motivate everyone to get the word out and inform other Naruto fans or anyone that enjoys playing games to join in and follow the progress of Nin Online as well as take part in forum discussions. This Referral contest will run from June 27th to July 14th. That's right, you've got a good deal of time to set your mark within the community as someone who helped with its growth. There are of course rules that must be followed or you will be disqualified from the contest. Please be sure to read through the following rules below in order to keep yourself from getting disqualified. [*]Only advertise on communities that allows advertisements. We would like to keep a decent reputation for our community and that includes respecting the rules of other communities. Please don't advertise if it is strictly against the rules on another forum. [*]The referral system has its own set of rules which is to check the IPs registered with each referral, you are under no circumstance allowed to create multiple accounts under the same IP because it just wont work. Any account caught using the same IP will be notified as well as the person who "referred" them about their disqualification. This will not result to a ban or forum punishment just to be clear. [*]Referred members are only counted if they are registered. This means it does not count if they just visit your referral link without registering. [*]Above all, remember this is not a war. Give people a reason to want to join our community instead of just "An awesome game being developed with nice graphics, join the community (link)". We will indeed look through how everyone was referred so make it awesome. How Do I Get A Referral Link? Getting a referral link is quite easy as you can see from the image above. All referral links can be located at the centered right side of the Nin-Online forums. Simply click in that box and copy the link in there. This link can then be posted wherever you intend to advertise or to whomever you wish to refer. Just below that you can see the current top five referrers. This will help you indicate the number you have to beat if you'd like to get your name on that list You can also manage your referrals by clicking on the "Manage Invitations" text located at the bottom right of the referral link section. On this page you can view all those you've referred and probably send them a thank you message for joining if you'd like, haha. What's Ours Is Yours! This simply means you are free to use any released image in the gallery or found on a development topic to advertise Nin-Online. Use what we've released to your advantage and be sure to mention what the image you use is showcasing. Keep In Mind Although we are allowing you to use any image provided having to do with Nin-Online, this does not mean you have the right to claim it as yours. These images are to be used only for advertisement purposes and nothing more. You have been warned now continue reading. Prizes! Now on to the good stuff.. PRIZES! What's a contest without a prize? Anyhow, lets start with in-game prizes. First Place [*]You will receive a special weapon in-game upon release. In the event of a wipe, it will be restored personally. This item is rightfully yours and will be named after you. Eg. Tsurugi no <Your Name> or <Your Name>nagi. [*]Gold Shinobi Badge for Life [*]Starter package Second Place [*]Gold Shinobi Badge for Life [*]Starter package This badge will indicate to the entire community that you successfully brought 50 or more new active members into our community. This prize is for any and everyone that can live up to its expectation and will continue to be a reward to anyone that can get 50 referrals even after the contest. Next up will be limited prizes. The closer we get to the release of Nin Online as well as the ending of this contest, we will be providing information on the limited packages and the first place option of one item from three choices. There will only be a first and second place prize. The option for a silver shinobi badge is always within grasp if you should want it. We hope to see a large amount of participants and many new community faces in the coming weeks. Rory and the entire development staff will be hard at work trying to provide decent development updates for everyone as well. Join us as we build a large community for a single purpose, to play a game worth playing. Go now shinobi, and bring back friends. I look forward to commanding a select few of you within my Anbu unit in the future. Good luck and a big welcome to all new members! Regards, AkatsukiNick
