Back Story:
For Kii, life began with a small family in the forest. Born to the Kat clan, (a mysterious and unknown clan of cat people that do not wander beyond the forest) Kii never knew anyone outside of her family. The only friend she had in this world was her older sister Kiwii.
Much of Kii's personality matches Kiwii's perfectly. While Kiwii is definitely the more outgoing and lively of the two sisters, they are both friendly and ambitious, turning their noses from the lifestyle of solitude that their traditional Kat parents tried to maintain. They both had dreams of seeing the outside world. Kii - thinking back - could think of more times than she could count that her sister would have heated conversations about their parents allowing her to see the outside world, asking that they take a "vacation" of sorts, but their parents would have none of it. It was always so sad for Kii to see her sister forelornly look through the window in their bedroom after another failed attempt to reason with their parents, not just because her sister was upset, but also for the fact that Kii understood exactly how she felt. What Kii's sister and parents didn't know is that she contained the same wanderlust as her older sister, she was just too timid to ever help Kiwii push the idea to her parents.
Kii would often dream of being able to scamper through a town, a magical place she had only read of in old Kat Clan scriptures. The idea of more than a single family in a centralised location was lucrative to Kii. She would wake up sometimes with a smile on her face, keeping her eyes shut to try and continue her dreams of meeting new people and making what some would call "friends". And my, oh my! The things that "friends" could show her! Kii had so much to learn, she just knew that there was more information to be absorbed! Kii wanted to know everything there is to know about the outside world! At the same time, she had been told her whole life that people outside of the clan had bad intentions and would try to kill them for not being entirely human. This all, of course, was written in books hundreds of years old, back when the Kat Clan took on a more feline appearance. If the physical makeup of their beings could change, people could change too... right? A cat girl can dream. Little did she know, her dreams would one day come true.
Kii feels like the night her life began was ironically the night that her sister - her other half - left the family. The night that everything changed. Staying up late again to read books in the moonlight, Kii knew it was far past her bed time, so when she heard footsteps slowly approaching her room she tossed the book under her blanket and pretended to be asleep. Keeping her eye cracked ever so slightly, she saw the familiar silhouette of her sister standing next to her bed. "Wh-... what is my sister doing in my room at this hour?..." When her sister didn't move, Kii slowly shut her eyes, hoping her cover hadn't been blown. What felt like and eternity later, Kii felt a soft hand brush across her face, and heard a whisper as soft as a breeze in her sister's voice, "I'll be back some day, Kitten. I love you. You're growing into such a fine young lady." What did she mean? Still fearing being caught awake, Kii continued to pretend sleeping as her sisters slinked out of her room. Sitting as still as she could, she must have began dreaming again. Kii could have sworn she heard her sister laughing from somewhere in the forest.
The next morning, Kii went downstairs for her breakfast only to see her parents sitting solemnly at the table, not giving her the usual smiles and "Good morning!" that she had grown to expect every day. "Is something wrong, Mama?" No response, just the same blank stare. "... Papa, is something wrong? Where... Where is Kiwii?" Kii received no answers and was instead greeted by her father hanging his head and shaking it slowly left and right. "No..." Immediately, she ran to Kiwii's room, panicking when her sister was nowhere to be found. "No, no, no, no, no." Sprinting back to the kitchen, she looked frantically at her parents, "NO! Where is she? Why are you not worried? Where did she go?" Tears started streaming down Kii's cheeks as she screamed at her parents. Her father slowly slid a note across the table, it read: "Mama, Papa, I have to find myself in this world. I refuse to live the rest of my life without seeing what I can be at my best. I will make a name for myself and I will return home with new friends and stories. This is the hardest decision of my life, but please forgive me! Take care of my dear Kitten, and remind her that I won't be gone forever. I love you all so much, and I shall dream of the day you can be proud of what I've done with my life. Love, your sister, your daughter, Kiwii." Kii finished reading the note and looked between her two parents for any sign that it was a cruel joke. When they had nothing to say, she fell to her knees sobbing, clutching the note to her chest. This is what her sister meant, "I'll be back some day" began ringing in Kii's ears. Her sister left and she didn't stop her for something as stupid as not wanting to be caught awake past her bed time.
Kii waited every day by the door step of their house, waiting for her sister to return. Days turned into weeks. Kii had lost a considerable amount of weight from not eating, and large, dark bags formed under her eyes from all the restless nights. She was sad and angry for Kiwii leaving her with nobody to talk to or play with. She also felt something different mixed in with her stronger emotions. As odd as it seemed, Kii thought she felt happy for her sister at times... maybe even a little envious. Weeks soon turned into months, and Kii made a decision. "No more" she spoke to herself in a harsh whisper, "Sister, you won't return to me. Never. Because I will go and find you!"

KiiKitten is KiwiiKat's younger sister. They're very similar, with some key differences I haven't quite put my finger on yet. Kitten went to chase after her sister, and ended up in Sunagakure. If that doesn't make sense, read @KiwiiKat's bio.
That's the idea at least.
One day I'll work Kitten into Kiwii's bio.
(probably)
