Reseda

Seed…

In the far away land of Takumi Village, lived a toddler, named Reseda, in an ornate house with her mother and father. Her father, a ferocious bounty hunter, made a living from all the heads he’s collected, while her mother, a medic, is forcibly brought to all her husband’s undertakings. The two made sure to bring Reseda wherever they went even though they knew they should never bring a baby into dangerous situations, such as decapitating someone, but they did it anyway to keep a better eye on their precious flower.

One day, on a voyage across the seas to visit the Land of Fire bounty station to claim their largest bounty yet, a sudden storm overtook the crystal-clear skies. The small boat thrashed about the monstrous waves. Her mother and father managed to steady themselves, but little Reseda swung out of her restraints and dove into the icy cold waters. Her mother was about to dive into the vicious sea to go after her, but the boat jolted her off her feet and alas, all she could do was watch the sea dance.  Her father helped his wife to her feet, “She’ll be okay. She is my child after all.”

After the storm passed, her tiny body bobbed across the surface, her faint wails tried to call out for somebody – anybody. It seemed no one was coming for her. On the verge of death, she cried out one last time before she fell unconscious.

Miraculously, Leaf Village ninjas on their way to Takumi to deliver a parcel could see a tiny body floating about the water. Without hesitation, one of them scooped Reseda’s body up, cradling her in their arms. A medic on standby checked her body and sensed a faint pulse. With quick thinking from the team of ninjas, they were able to revive her. Reseda’s saucer emerald eyes fluttered open to greet her heroes, but she noticed no sign of her mother or father. “Mama! Papa!” She cried out repeatedly until the ninja holding her could soothe her into a deep slumber.

The group of ninjas decided to head over to Takumi Village to finish the mission and find where the child belonged. Upon arrival, the ninjas managed to deliver their parcel, but when they asked around about the child’s origins, everyone bolted for their house, fearful of getting involved in a confrontation with the girl’s father. Unsure of what to do next, the group of ninjas decided to head back to the Leaf Village with baby Reseda in tow.
