  4. We will have the ability to change clothes, by setting the paperdoll for each slot from non-premium items too. There also will be variants of the clothes that we do have, such as different colors.
  5. Ports The Unity port was scrapped. Project V2 was never started, we thought about it, but decided that it wasn't a good move for the game and starting over was too much work. Basically, the V2 demo was a quick prototype created in less than a week using a powerful engine that allows fast development. Technologies The new technologies (Unity & Construct 2) we looked at were too much work to port to, and we are better off making a custom engine from scratch if we ever want to move to the web. This all depends on how big the game gets, it is pointless to port if there is no community that cares about it and would ultimately be a waste of effort. Even though, this means the game will not be as good as it could be, if we keep starting over there will be no game to care about in the first place. Conclusion There's going to be a time when starting over will be good, but it just isn't the right time. This is due to the nature of the engine we are using and how much work it takes to get things working. If we ever hit the point that this engine is too much work to take care of, we will reconsider porting over to the web completely just like V2 displays, and we will of course make a way better tile engine with platforms, but with our current engine it will not happen. We're sticking with our existing engine until further notice. This topic has been closed.   6. Reasons This service is a way for @Afilion to get something back from the project, and is not going to the project itself. It is a service that is being offered for him as a third party contractor, it both enriches the community and helps him monetarily. This definitely will not affect the game in a negative way, because it took me a couple hours to do it, and I am tired of working on other things in the game at the moment. This is a break from that to allow me to relax and do something different. As for villages, Jutsus, and the like, we've been adding new content everyday. Why exactly should we be miserable making the game? Sometimes it is good to mix things up. Although, this service is obviously one of many we will offer, and those will actually fund the project directly. Those who contract @Afilion, will be motivating him to continue to do free work for it though. Change I have decided to make some changes to this system already... Instead of linking your profile song, we will make tracks that you can select as your character's RP song which will be used for initialization of combat such as in the arena, and other players will be able to listen to it by right clicking your character and selecting "Play Theme Song". We may eventually force you to use your Theme Song in place of your Profile Song, but that is still undecided, and this may be a paid service only since theme songs are personalized. We're not sure if we will make default theme songs for people to choose freely, it is still up for discussion. I hope that with these changes, more people will think this is a great RP element to be added to the game which will allow people to be more in character. This system has been postponed though, and the current state of it will remain unfinished until later. Thank you all for your feedback.

  8. Introduction One of our breaking changes we are trying to push in Alpha 3 is the ability to share your profile song with your friends in-game. You can change your profile song then send it immediately to anyone in-game, all they have to do is simply press accept to listen to it in the client. There are many other features like this we are planning to add into the game, but we want to know your opinion on a few details. Details We need to know how the community feels about their profile song being available to anyone who simply right clicks their character, and this means anyone can listen to it, but if someone wants to share it with you, you must accept it before it will play. The other idea we have is a way for people to create their own profile songs by requesting them from our composer @Afilion, would people be willing to spend money on this service if it was offered? We're all volunteers here, and it is always nice to help out the developers who contribute to the game freely. This makes our time here more valuable since it both helps our expenses and offers more services to our community. Conclusion This is a new idea I had, so it may change, but we thank everyone for their opinions and concerns with it. We will keep this open for a couple weeks to determine the direction for this before it is fully implemented.
  9. Introduction If the website is not performing as good as it used to, or something isn't working at all, you should first try reloading the website using a hard refresh. The problem usually lies with the browser caching something that it shouldn't, and the only way to fix this is by forcing the browser to clear its cache and cookies, or forcing a hard reload which the website may be able to notice. We only support the latest versions of these browsers in our tutorials, please update to the latest version before following these instructions or else! Chrome Press the F12 key on your keyboard. Hold the left mouse button over the Refresh Button and wait for a drop down menu to appear. Click on Hard Reload and wait for the page to refresh. If this does not work, try Empty Cache and Hard Reload and repeat the same steps above. If this does not resolve your issue, please clear your cookies by clicking the Menu Button, going to History, and clicking "Clear browsing data...". Follow the image below by clicking what is checked, click on the drop down menu next to Obliterate the following items from: and select the beginning of time then click Clear browsing data. Firefox Click on the Menu Button. Click on the History Button. Click "Clear Recent History...". Follow the image below by clicking what is checked, select Everything in Time range to clear:, and click Clear Now. Internet Explorer and Other Browsers Download Chrome or Firefox. Follow the steps provided for the browser that you picked if your problem persists. If you insist on staying with your current browser, just clear your cookies and cache.   10. Thank you. We're indies with a very limited amount of resources, but we try our best to do professional quality work, and if we did not do closed tests we could not fund the project. This is what a lot of people do not understand and glad to know that some do. A lot of the resources we've put into the game are sweat and blood of the staff here. Hundreds of hours of free work, no payment like what a traditional team would get. This is why we must have perks for donators and early adopters since the game requires a lot of resources to complete. No one in their right mind should open a game in alpha to players since it harms the reputation, and expectations of what people think the game will have and can destroy the hype level, but we wanted to share the game early on to allow people to experience it from start to finish.
  11. That type of attitude is why so many good things end up failing. Hype is built up to make a product feasible to complete, without hype nothing can give it momentum to flourish, but people like this cause the product to have to be released earlier than what the developers wished it to be which causes a backlash and this basically lead to a product's demise. So many good games have failed because of it, and I don't tolerate it or listen to people who follow it.
  12. The closed testing will only last for 1-2 weeks at most, and then everyone can play afterwards. Although, this testing phase is very short and won't be able to play that long.
  13. Introduction We're introducing a new testing stage for Nin Online, it is called Early Access Testing Phase. In this period, players will be able to play the game for a short period of time (15-60 minutes), such as to stress test to prepare for the Closed Testing Phase. Details How do you become a veteran? You must have Gold Ninja or Silver Ninja for at-least 6 months, be a friend or family member of one of the staff, or invest into the game. Investing basically means that you have contributed more than the required amount to play the game early such as a $25 or more, something which takes a lot of faith in the project to do and is something we appreciate a lot. This does not mean we're going to make the game P2W (pay-to-win), but it is a way to show gratitude to those who make the game possible. Also, the more that you donate to it, the greater chance that you will be selected. Those that have contributed $50 or more, will most certainly get in these tests. You will be given a special user group permanently called Early Access whenever you are selected to be apart of these tests. We will post a topic with a timer a week before the test, if you reply to it your chances of getting into the Early Access group will be strengthened, and the more constructive your reply is the better. Players apart of the Early Access group will be sent a mass personal message when the test is about to start usually within 1 hour, and it is up to you to be on when it happens. All accounts will be wiped for each test including the one before the Open Testing Phase. Date These tests will be at random times, and we will create a forum topic a week ahead of the time it will happen. Make sure to subscribe to the Gold & Silver Lounge forum to keep up-to-date on these testing periods. We will not mass email for these tests, it is only for people who are active on the forum.] If you get notifications for personal messages, you will get on in your email an hour before the test. No rewards will be given for testing, but it is a way to help the game improve.
  14. Gold is the only one that can be earned with money, Silver can only be earned by indirectly supporting the game whereas paying is direct support. Gold and Silver share the same perks. Both can be shown as a user group. We will allow you to swap between the two later on, such as having a silver name in-game.

I want to mention an important detail for people really wanting to play the game, you may get a chance if you are a veteran of the community, this includes both Gold and Silver Shinobi, such as there being several small tests before July 31st. More information about that will be posted in the Ninja Lounge in a few weeks. Ninja Lounge is only accessible to Gold Ninja and Silver Ninja. If you want a chance to get early access before the official closed test please consider buying Gold Ninja or earning Silver Ninja. You can buy Gold Ninja here or earn it by recruiting members to the community to do this you must referral them. Closed tests are not available to everyone, and only Gold Ninja and Silver Ninja.

  18. We'll do that, I suggested it to Rory already (eye part not icon). Instead of adding a hit animation frame for all the characters which is a lot of work.
  19. Fullscreen at the moment will stretch the window to the monitor's resolution. We will be adding widescreen support to the resolution to avoid stretching. Your direction is cached allowing you to press the attack key once you are facing in the designated direction you are wanting to attack in. so if you want to attack northeast all you have to do is be facing northeast by pressing up and right once until you want to attack in a different direction.
  20. Seth's Development Log #7 Fullscreen, Splash Screen, and Misc. Improvements Fullscreen You may now enter fullscreen mode by pressing Alt + Enter or by inputting the /fullscreen command. Once you enter fullscreen mode, it will be saved, and each time you launch the game it will restore your preferred setting automatically. Splash Screen While the game is loading, it will display a splash screen. This screen will fade in as the game loads and fade out once the game has finished loading. We've also improved the game's loading to be very fast which means that there is no need to have a loading screen any longer. Item and Jutsu Description Overhaul We've improved the coloring for the level, rank, and type requirement to be more informative and consistent with the other parts of the game. For example, if you do not meet the level requirement for an item, it will show as red rather than green. Green demonstrates that you pass the requirement. Red demonstrates that you do not pass the requirement. Chakra cost has been added to the Jutsu description. Projectile Improvements We've added where projectiles can hit in all 8 directions. They also are able to explode or animate once they come into contact with a solid object such as a wall or corpse. This also means that once a projectile hits a corpse, it will end prematurely, too. 8 Directional Attacks You can now attack from all 8 directions, the same goes for NPCs and other players. Hotbar Improvements We've added the ability to swap your hotbar slots by holding shift and dragging them to the slot that you desire. You may now also destroy slots just by dragging them off the hotbar, but this is not in our demonstration.

  23. The warning would go off right away when it is laid not when you walk on top of it. Think of it like a bomb that is ticking, so it allows people to lay them in certain spots and time them just right.
