  1. Alright, thanks - you have been given Silver Member and Early Access.
  2. You have to use the referral system if you want to prove that you are legibility getting people to come to the site.
  3. All they got to do is post or private message me that they want it. I don't have the time to go through all the users manually. If I see someone post that has a registration date in 2013, I will typically give it to them without them asking for it.
  4. You already got it? I know he only posted once, but some people don't like to post.
  5. We can always use a lot of video editors, we need people to create footage and edit it to entertain people, and this is also a good way to teach you how to make actual game content, so if people want to make videos of the game to entertain our community they can do this and eventually help develop actual game content for us. To apply just go Just cause a position is not listed, does not mean we aren't recruiting for it, but these positions we have listed are the most important ones that we need. Artists are always welcome.
  6. Promises are hard to keep, but we are listening and continually making these changes as we get the resources to fulfil them. They are sort of like wishes we have to do to the game, that will eventually make their way into it.
  7. Thanks. We disabled it until Early Access, so that people know we care about the game more than money.
  8. Introduction We are looking for skilled individuals that are willing to dedicate themselves in getting better and working on astounding projects at an indie level. While we want people who are talented and experienced, something that is so much more important is dedication and passion, so don't hesitate if you have these characteristics. We believe in making games for fun and getting better over making a paycheck since you know only good people make it in the industry or corporations with lots of money to throw. This game is commercial and aimed at making money. We eventually plan to go through Steam Greenlight and possibly Kickstarter to fund a more sophisticated engine. Concept Nin Online is a 2-D MMORPG, set in a universe inspired by Naruto. The game takes place in an original timeline, where the players define the story of the world. You play as your own alter ego, choosing your own path as a ninja. You start as an Academy Student in the village of your choice and train to become a powerful Ninja. You can participate in events such as Kage Elections, Diplomatic meetings, Wars, Chunnin Exams and more. Community is the focus of the game. We will build systems which integrate the community, while still creating a fun and diverse PvP environment where you will be facing all kinds of enemy ninjas, from conflicts between organisations, conflicts between different villages, to conflicts between random enemy ninjas while travelling the world. Every player will have a background story, and it will go down in the history of Nin Online. To emphasis the importance of community, we have spent countless hours building a large world filled with leisure areas to chill with your friends, and places to explore with your team, and we will continue to build it as we progress further into development. Benefits You can expand your portfolio as a game developer to get your foot into the door. Not professional game developers, but we listen and learn from our failed experiences which drive us forward so that we can get better and learn. Work on our project daily, here to chat if you are struggling on something you are assigned, and always showing ourselves better ways to do things. Friendly to work with, don't force you to contribute any amount of hours and like to have fun. You get to play the game before anyone else with new features, content, and other goodies! Positions If your position is not listed you may still apply. We're always looking for more talented people to work with, but our standards for you will be higher than a position we desperately need. One Programmer that excels in VIsual Basic programming and can do C#. One Media person that can make YouTube videos that demonstrate previews, trailers, and live streams. You must be able to use Twitch and dissect highlights as well as get footage from players to make appealing content. Preferably able to voice videos or cover live stream events such as the Chunnin Exam. One Developer to make content for the game and help balance. One 2-D Pixel Artist able to learn our game's art style and create in-game content such as Tilesets, Items, Jutsus and Mobs. You will work closely with Rory to create a vibrant & immersive world for the players. Contact Please send me some examples of your work and a basic application form that is well formatted, no cover letter or school is required since this is just a place to get started making games. It is volunteer and going to focused mostly on working on a game for fun. Submit your application at applications@hitsparkinteractive.com.
  9. We will start making content preview videos, to showcase entire areas. It's just we need a video editor. If anyone wants to join the team, you can edit videos for us and get to play before anyone else does.
  10. We will do Kickstarter when we can publish the game and make sure it runs good enough for people to try it out at a large scale. There are plans for a new server architecture. After we get our current client to work with our new server, we simply are going to slowly port it to C# which will run on the web as well as eventually mobile devices in the distant future. These are all our ambitions, they may not be met soon, but we are working our best to make a one-of-a-kind type of experience.
  11. Thanks for the feedback everyone, it helps us get better and actually deliver a game that is fun to play and something we are proud of. The polishing and bug fixing is being done early, because we were overwhelmed with breakage in the engine and lost drive to work. We needed to fix all these problems and quit adding tons of features. Expect my Development Log sometime soon.
  12. We can change that. These are early previews.
  13. We are working to establish ourselves as an organization, it takes time. Right now, we're a bunch of volunteers making a MMO. People donate which that money goes toward paying for that concept art you see in this Development Log, as well as software licenses and things of that nature. We are doing our best to make an awesome game with hardly any funding.
  14. There's a limitation, you have to be a Gold Ninja or Silver Ninja. Early Access is a special group that requires one or the other.
  15. You can have Early Access.
  16. Members with Gold Ninja or Silver Ninja that have been a member a year get it for free. Thanks. I awarded you both Early Access.
  17. We're transitioning to a new Early Access model, I know Early Access has ruined the games industry or well made it worse, but the main issue is team motivation - it is hard to make a game with no drive. Having people play a game is more drive than getting paid in my opinion, working for hours with no reward is very stressful, so when people give negative feedback, it makes the job even harder. Basically, what we plan to do is allow people in the Early Access group to play the game as it is developed, once we finish the next Development Log, it will be open to them, and eventually open to all the donators/veterans. Once we know the game is ready for everyone, we will open it for good and continue to develop as we planned to do.
  18. Dear Ninjas, This announcement is more or less, something to support our Concept Artist. Who has done all the concept art for Nin Online at very good rates when she was first starting off to now being a master concept artist. The comic strip is hosted on Tapastic. You can view it by clicking on the image below. This comic strip is in no way affiliated with Nin Online or Couch Knight, but it is a thank you to @ for her commitment to continuing to do concept art for us Thanks, Couch Knight
  19. Yeah, as the poll shows the minority want more customization, so it isn't really a big issue to address.
  20. Do you guys like being notified when a post you like is updated? I personally like it, but it can be spammzor mode if someone updates a post a lot. There's no way we're going to improve it right now, but if you think it is good but needs to be improved let us know.
  21. Not exactly, the mask just has Sharingan appearance - it isn't a Sharingan for real though.
  22. It's fixed and saves for logout. Thanks, we will do this for our combat system Development Log in the next coming weeks.
  23. Dear Ninja, This is one of the many development logs I will be posting over the next 3-5 weeks upcoming to the release of Open Alpha 3. Many of these changes have been in the engine, but we just released finished this organized update recently which will include a video demonstrating the interface changes and 3-D sounds! We will also have a GIF like good old times. UI Improvements Past The game used to have problems when you moved your mouse and clicked while over windows. There was also problems with windows not being all that responsive and controllable. We've fixed all these problems and more! Now There have been a bunch of changes made to the interface. We believe it is the core of the gameplay experience and deserves as much love as the actual combat system. We've added where the escape key can be used to clear or close target, interface windows, and menu rather than just menu and target. It also will clear these in a very specific order: target, interface windows, then menu. The interaction of the windows has been improved significantly for those who didn't play in the Closed Alpha 3. They now save their position when you logout or close the client, and they will respond more intuitively. Improved the description windows for Items and Jutsus for all windows. The sound effects for the windows and interface have been enhanced. Cursor icons work much better. Beta The keybinds will come when they are ready. No promises for gamepad or controller support though... Auto Loot Past In the last alpha test, you had to manually pick up the same item many times, but we've implemented a very basic Auto Loot system to solve this problem! Now The new system we've implemented basically automatically loots items of the same ID or name when you pick up an item in a radius around your character. This means that if you pick up Ryo, any Ryo within the radius that the Auto Loot system operates in will also be picked up around you and put into your Inventory. This should solve the annoyance of looting at-least for now! Beta We've aware that not everyone wants to Auto Loot, and those that do, want more flexibility with it. That is why we're going to make further changes to it in the beta version! Hold space to open up a loot menu and show all the items underneath you. Turn Auto Loot on/off with a setting in the menu. Bind the Auto Loot key to a specific key such as holding space or pressing space rather than always Auto Looting. We will by default make this hold space in beta. 3-D Sounds The game sounds are less annoying now and more realistic. You won't feel like there's a million sounds around you. We reduced the amount of sound by a lot and blended them in more. There a lot less annoying now with a more realistic sound reduction and natural positioning. They now use their location and the location of your character, to make the sound louder or quieter based on the distance you are away from it. When you get far enough away from it, it will eventually have no sound. Finale https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=G-J_rIpTfxQ And...@Rory is back. Seriously though, I am going to sleep after this. Also, many more updates shall come forth in the coming weeks, please bare with us for a little while longer and the game will be at a playable state soon. Thanks, Seth
