  1. Dear Ninja, We've decided to release the Server Blessing feature early, which allows players to buy a mass experience boost across the entire server. This will allow players to reach level 30 easier right before the 2nd Chunin Exams. This will become available shortly, later today. World Blessing will cost $5 each and will last one entire hour. These items will be refunded when we wipe as a side note, so it is not a risk to buy it now if you are not level 30 yet! if the server gets taken down for some reason, the time will return when it comes back up! They also display you for 1 hour on all player's interface showing that it was you who helped them level. The reason that Nin Online will never have exp boosts for individual players is because we are very against any features that are P2W. A global 1.5x experience boost will serve as a way to help out other players, more so than yourself we're sure! Once we reach Beta our focus for the game is the journey, not reaching the max level cap. As such, the leveling experience is meant to be much much slower than it is now. We're promoting RP and progression of character more so than how high your level may be. Quick Preview 2nd Chunin Exams
  2. Each Chunin Exams are different, we repeat them every 3 we host. Eventually, we may add more than 3 but for now it is just 3 different ones.
  3. We're focusing on teamwork over solo kill stealing.
  4. A quick update to the bugs section.
  5. Dear Ninja, This is a another quick hotfix patch to fix some bugs with the game and balancing changes with the Event Headquarters. This is probably the last patch. It depends if you guys keep finding bugs or not. Fix social login to work correctly, those who create an account using Facebook, Twitter, or Google can now login without issues. Fixed missing click sound. Fix Google login to work, it did not work as intended and was independently broken due to a change in our infrastructure. Fixed the search function to require the full name entered, for personal messaging, inviting to team and such to prevent sending to the wrong player. Fixed a game server crash. Fixed messages and numbers appearing at random spots rather than at the correct player. Fixed the Training Scroll message and many other messages to appear when used correctly. The Authentication Server disconnects inactive clients after 60 seconds. Fixed a bug if team was full, it could glitch you where you could not enter a team or spectate until you left map or relogged. Fixed bug with target window not displaying correctly. Fixed a bug with getting stuck logged in. Logout animation plays when you fully logout rather than when you start to logout. Fixed a bug with the event not displaying the correct options when talking to Velva or Ashe. Fix projectile range to hit the tile in front of you. Mastery description fixed (wasn't working). The Training Scroll cost has been changed to 10 Event Tickets up from 5. Adjusted the rewards of Event Headquarters to 300/150 for win/lose up from 250/100. Kills/assists give 2/1 Event Tickets down from 10/5. The cost to start an event has been reduced to 1,000 Ryo and to enter the event costs 500 Ryo. Exiting will require repayment. Best Wishes,Hitspark
  6. Updated with more changes.
  7. I have just released a fix for social media created accounts, should allow you all to login properly.
  8. Dear Ninja, This is a quick hotfix bug with a few changes to the game, and it should be the final patch until Closed Beta begins. This contains no major balance changes. Event Headquarters fixed a bug while leaving spectating would not leave the team you were spectating, not allowing you to join back. Also, fixed a bug for not ending the event properly after it was over and being able to earn Event Tickets outside the event by killing ninjas anywhere. Fixed game client crashes. Fixed not being able to login if you AFK while on server select or hit back before logging in. If you would attempt to login and fail, it could glitch you to not be able to login again. Fixed other login problems such as disconnecting while logging in and logout issues for not logging out completely. Fixed running animation bugs. A Toad is in Leaf Village square to give you one free Scroll of Stat Reset. Updated the Event Chest to contain Robes store. Removed being able to upgrade Training Scrolls. Added a Spectator option in the Event Headquarters. Raised reward for winning Team Deathmatch to 250 Event Tickets and lose 100, vs. 100 and 50. Reduced kills to win Team Deathmatch to 25 down from 50. Removed asking for you to spectate if team is full since Spectator option has been added. Lightning Senbon no longer stuns at rank 3. Heal Wounds cooldown increased for rank 3 to 18 up from 17. Best Wishes,Hitspark
  9. We've updated the footer to include a link to our form for applying to be a staff member. Please fill it out if you wish to work on the game with us. Best Wishes, Seth.
  10. Dear Ninja, We've updated the installer with the latest files, for those having issues updating. The new updater is provided, which for those with errors should resolve. Uninstall the old game before installing the new one. If you have problems playing the game, make sure to reboot after uninstalling the game and ensure to reboot after installing. We will be updating the mirror and torrents downloads later, they still use version 1.8.0! They will be updated within a few hours or less. Best Wishes, Seth
  11. Yes. Pures are not meant to be that widely used, the other stats are too important to pass up. It makes your character a glass cannon, so we balanced where damage scaling isn't so high as a melee vs. range. Range are more capable of being glass cannons than melee. Melee are supposed to be more tanky naturally in their builds.
  12. Some quick changes to the game. Event Headquarters now allows you to spectate without team being full. Raised reward to 250/100 for event win/lose. Reduced kills to 25. Fixed a bug while leaving spectating would not leave the team you were spectating, not allowing you to join back. Fixed a bug for not ending the event properly after it was over. Lightning Senbon no longer stuns at rank 3. Raised CD of Heal Wounds to 18 for rank 3.
  13. Guys it will not be done until tomorrow. I had to take the server down, because it had some serious bugs that I became aware of. I was hotfixing the game server of 1.9.3 (to resolve serious bugs) until this patch came out, but we're working hard to bring it out as soon as possible and just couldn't leave the game server up until we fixed all the bugs this time. Thanks for your patience.
  14. Minimum resolution for website is 1336x768. Very few people have that low of resolution anymore, we don't really support 1024x768 completely. We probably will cut off the header for lower resolutions, but maybe @Rory can supply a fix for it. The site looks worse in 1024x768 than 1336x768 above regardless.
  15. Mac Bootcamp using a separate install of Windows. Veertu (for native virtualization using Hypervisor framework provided by Mac if using Yosemite or above without 3-D acceleration). Parallels (for feature-rich virtualization with 3-D acceleration). PlayOnMac uses WINE. It does not work with the game, I tried. As a side note, Parallels costs annually for new versions and Veertu is free for a lifetime software purchase. Bootcamp is the best free option you have and is a native install making it have native performance. I do not believe using VirtualBox on Mac is a good idea, but you can try. My experiences were left unsatisfied. Linux Qemu + KVM using GPU pass-through for native 3-D acceleration. Example. Virtualbox using software virtualization with weak 3-D acceleration. PlayOnLinux uses WINE. As a side note, Linux is for advanced users and if you don't know how to do this yourself you better not be using this since you are likely wasting your time using an OS that is not designed for consumers. WINE The game is too complicated to get to run under WINE for novice users. Additionally, the way WINE works is not very good for software developers to port app packages for the many flavors of Linux or Mac despite looking very hard. I once tried to port to a Mac App, but I could never get it fully working, so it will have to wait til the new engine. I have got the game running 95% bug free using WINE and PlayOnLinux, but it is really complicated for novice users. PlayOnMac I could not get the game to render probably, the display server that Mac uses is different and for some reason doesn't want to render DirectX8 the same as it does on Linux. The updater worked on both though. To get started simply install these dependencies. Make sure to install them before install the installer. .NET Framework 4.0 + XHTML. XHTML is required, there's not much documentation but if the updater doesn't work then this is likely the problem. I believe version 3 is required. Visual Basic 6 Runtime. Microsoft Core Fonts. Mono. If you get problems with the install, it is up to you to resolve them. Make sure to post your results here if you are successful. Let us know what you did to get it to work, so we can improve the process for other users. Support We will try to support Mac and Linux in the new game engine, for now this is all we can offer.

Disable mouse controls by typing /mouse. Chat Tab switches position of chat active part. Left side is for player names and commands. Commands supported are /g and /t. Ctrl + Backspace erases all text. Ctrl + Up/Down shows chat history. Ctrl + V will paste any text in your clipboard into the text box.
  18. I updated the topic to say when it will be out, which is patch 1.9.4 and out before the wipe.
  19. Seth's Development Log Event Headquarters Dear Ninja, Event Headquarters is a new place for ninjas to battle one another, apart from Bounties which is coming soon after the Sand Village is released or maybe even when it is. Think of it like Team Deathmatch, but when you die you are sent back to your team base to try again to kill more ninjas! The first team to reach 100 kills, will be victorious. Which means these matches can last quite awhile! It will be out in the upcoming patch 1.9.4. Event Headquarters This area is located east of the Chunin Registration Building, which is also east of the playgrounds. In this area, you will be able to find events which are hosted by players. There is a requirement of participation, but it does not cost anything to start them. You simply just gather enough players to do them. At first, all we are going to have is Team Deathmatch, but later we will expand this area to house a ton of exciting and replayable content for the community to have a great way to PvP together, across even villages. This is a great way to sharpen your skills, before entering the battlefield to kill other players and getting Bounties. Teams The two teams we are going to have are Red and Blue. We will not ever add more than these two most likely. Each team will be teamed together, meaning they will not be able to inflict any damage to their own team members while in this area. Although, once they leave it will go away. For each kill your team gets, you will receive 5 Event Tickets and 10 if you get the killing blow. Once your team is victorious, you will receive 100 Event Tickets vs. 50 if you lose. Event Chest This is the reward chest for your bravery, valor, and well ninja kills. There are tons of rewards, including equipment and ways to level up using Training Scrolls. These items are also bound to your character and cannot be traded. Shops The shops will contain a wide variety of items. Training Scrolls can be upgraded up to level 20, giving additional experience and not costing anything extra to upgrade except a small amount of Ryo... There's also a teleport item to get back to the Event Headquarters every 15 minutes. As a side note, team colored robes are required to be worn when participating in the event, and we will have robes with and without hoods. You simply just equip them before entering, it is a requirement to wear the correct robe before entering and cannot be taken off after entering either. These items will be received upon paying the shop for them which will cost Ryo. They will be kept and likely will be moving the robes from Snake Lair to here, as part of the shop rewards. Players won't care for that right now, but when we wipe they will. Event Battleground The place which battles are placed are in a Event Battleground after being taken into the team base. Each team will be required to have at-least 3 members before battles can start. The maximum size for teams is 5, if the number is over 5 you will instead become a Spectator which goes inside the railing part of the arena. Red will go to the top part where Blue will go to the bottom one. If you have any comments or concerns, post them below. I will correct this post and add more detail if I see fit. Best Wishes, Seth

We won't be making anymore major improvements to optimizations from here on out, the new game engine will run even better. We're focusing on features and content from here on out. Thanks for voting everyone! There will be one final big optimization coming in 1.9.4, which will improve stability of FPS and then that's pretty much all the major optimizations we will make.

You can check your wattage of PSU just by opening your case to see, or you can get the PC you bought and enter the model number online to see the hardware components it has. If you do not plan on playing 3-D games, your PC is fine as is. Just upgrade the RAM and the FPS should stabilize, you probably can get away with the GPU you have now. Do you have one?

@Zane is your PC memory max when playing the game? 2 GB of RAM is not enough, you should upgrade to 4 GB. You also need to have a dedicated GPU. Pentium does not have an iGPU. This game is 2-D, but it uses DirectX8. DIrectX requires a dedicated graphics card to work well, it makes the CPU have to do all the draw calls and CPUs suck at rendering. EVGA Gigabyte Ensure your computer PSU is at-least 300W, if it is not then you will have to underclock/not play any intense games that utilize the full speed of the GPU.
