Seth's Development Log Social Improvements Dear Ninja, This is a quick Development Log from, we have done a lot more than this although we wanted to give you guys something to show for what we've been actively developing! Split and Combine Stack Using Shift + Left Click you can split and combine stacks. Shops and Character Creation You can now rotate your character by pressing the arrow keys or WASD while in a shop or character creation scene. You can also select the Bald hairstyle, which is selectable for both male and female genders. Social You can now block and report players by right-clicking them, then selecting "Report" or "Block" which will immediately do the action without having to input anything. Report Reporting a player allows you to inform staff of misconduct. We're also going to remove the bilingual rules, we are only going to moderate users if they are reported. When they are reported, we will translate their text if it is not a language we do not understand to punish them if they are indeed breaking rules or harassing players. It is no longer the job of staff to actively moderate the community, it is up to the community to report players that are breaking the rules. We will still moderate although, we're going to focus more on community events vs. actively policing everyone. We will punish users who are causing problems and start watching their behaviors in-game, before officially banning them. Reporting allows us to find the troublemakers without interfering with player's experience in-game. It also provides us an easy way to dish out punishments and provide a more private experience for players. Block Blocking a player will prevent all communication from them, including chat bubbles and messages. This also blocks any invites they send you, such as a team or trade invite. We've done a lot more than this, it is being saved for my final Development Log next month! It will be my biggest one we've ever had, introducing a lot of new features to get everyone excited for the Beta launch.

@blackThunder1 I am not going to hold your hand on this. I really don't have enough time to keep telling you what to do. I told you many times already in PM. Read what I said or don't apply to be Media.
-
@DrYukiro thanks for the feedback. The formatting is more free now, I have changed it for being a specific video to be anything now using the footage. You can post your video on your YouTube and show it off in the community too, but we will eventually add a modified/enhanced version to our YouTube. We won't use the community to determine how good the video is, but it is a good way for you yourself as a video creator to determine how well you did. For example, it would be good to do if you didn't get hired by us to see where you can improve. You may also change the music on the video you upload to your YouTube for example, but we will be more strict on the video uploaded to our YouTube. It also to note that we will not accept the video through your YouTube, it must be sent using a raw video file in the Application form. Showcase the event that happened which was an Akatsuki attack. Make sure to include transitions and make the video entertaining. It can be a trailer, a recap of the event condensed or anything you can think of; just be creative!

You aren't following the directions. If you can't follow them, we won't accept it anyway.

As a quick update, this is just for fun and the art is not being used for anything particular and is something that is archived in our announcements for community growth. Earlier, we had someone suggest that we were because we disqualified cheaters. The art does not have to be great, it is about the idea behind the art. Thanks everyone so far who has entered.
-
Should of read the instructions. We don't need any trailers. Go ahead and send it with the video we asked for; it would be good practice anyway.
-
I suggest installing 7-ZIP. http://www.7-zip.org/ It replaces WinRAR or your basic Windows Archive Manager - the program that unzips your compressed files. 7-ZIP is renowned for being the fastest, cheapest and most supported for file extensions. It is similar to VLC in video players.
-
We've increased the duration the video can be up to 20 minutes, to allow more creative usage of the content. There can be more than one winner if we like multiple entries.

Dear Ninja, We're looking for a video editor to make videos for Nin Online YouTube. If your video is accepted, you will be able to join the team as a Media person to make more videos. Include your YouTube channel or website in our video signature. Credits will be awarded to you for making the video, you can use it on job applications and such. In-game perks such as being able to try the game early and take footage with the team. Your alt can be given Gold Ninja for free. Closed We're no longer accepting this, please do not do it. Getting Started Your job will be to edit the Chunin Exams video monthly or bi-monthly depending upon our schedule, and create fun videos which will be a compilation of in-game events that you need to highlight into a short 5-20 minute video with a song that we pick. When submitting the video, it needs to have the audio of the video plus the music that is provided in the attachment at the bottom. You can loop the music if you need to, just make it good. Showcase the event that happened which was an Akatsuki attack. Make sure to include transitions and make the video entertaining. It can be a trailer, a recap of the event condensed or anything you can think of; just be creative! Make sure when applying that you at-least have a GPU encoder such as iGPU or Nvenc. AMD GPUs are not that well supported with their video encoding. If you have an AMD GPU then you are required to have a fast processor to use non-hardware accelerated recording. Please send your hardware specs in the email. You can use this. All you have to do is take a screenshot of the System Summary that pops up after scanning your hardware. Even if your hardware does not meet our requirements, you can prove to us that you can record high quality video in the future if your submission wins or simply upgrade your hardware where it lacks. Looking for non-hardcore fan contributors and those interested in pursuing a career as a video editor or like to make videos as a hobby. It is perfectly fine to be a fan, but we don't want inexperienced editors applying. It is more work for us to accept inexperienced video editors than to edit the videos ourselves, which we will not do. Please submit your videos to our application form, if you have already applied to be Media then do so again. You do not need to have 3 examples of your previous work, just this video will do fine. You can post your video on your YouTube and show it off in the community too, but we will eventually add a modified/enhanced version to our YouTube. Video We uploaded one of our random in-game events which contains a lot of footage to use for the video submission. Please use 7-ZIP to unzip it or another software that support .7z format. http://www.7-zip.org Font You simply are free to make the video in any format you want. Make sure to match the font that we use for the website and other videos. The font we use is called Myriad Pro. Banners Place two banners on the side of the video. Make sure to do it properly, use the name of the file to determine which side it goes on. Those who do not follow instructions will not be replied back to or accepted. All files are copyright under Hitspark Interactive and are not allowed to be used anywhere except by us and for this video submission.

Dear Ninjas, This is an announcement to let our fans know that, we're getting rid of any Jutsus that are cosmetic. We may eventually add skins to Jutsus, but we will never have a Jutsu that is solely a skin. Meaning, the Uchiha eye is being removed from the game during Beta. We will refund players when we wipe, allowing them to buy other items with their Account Credit. This is to allow a better role-playing experience and generally make it a better game overall. Thanks, Seth

Dear Ninjas, This is a quick announcement to clear up any details for the upcoming updates to the game. We're transitioning to Closed Beta soon, which will be a few months long to prepare the game for Open Beta. Closed Beta is only available to Gold and Silver Ninja. Ninjas who bought Cash Shop items do not count, the perk of this group is to gain access to these exclusive testing periods as well as site perks and discounts. The game will begin to form a real story, we've been trying to get a good storywriter, but it is hard since we have to make sure they are capable of using RPG Maker style editors decently or gain experience use an engine similar such as Eclipse Worlds or Origins. Most storywriters have little to no developer experience, we need someone who is both a developer and storywriter. We will begin to shape a story during Closed Beta and once we complete the Mission System. The game will close down and wipe soon, within the next 3-4 weeks. After this happens, you will not be able to play for a few months unless you are a Gold or Silver Ninja. This is your last chance to play your current characters, so make sure you take any needed screenshots or videos while you can. Thanks, Seth

Posting those patch notes didn't really increase player activity, all it did was cut into my time to develop the actual game.
-
I have updated the engine slightly.
-
We're making high quality Patch Notes instead of tons of ones that are boring. Basically, it means we will slow down on client updates and changes soon, releasing content and having previews of it in the Patch Notes.
-
Patch Notes aren't necessary if you do big announcements every month, you have 2 patches every 2 weeks. The big announcement is what contains the new content. Players shouldn't have to be told every little thing change in a game. I see players complaining at Blizzard Patch Notes for not having every minute change. It is just a tedious process and players drain the energy our small team has trying to please their demands. We're cutting back on this as much as possible, to focus on the game rather than the demands of players that can play the actual game to find out it themselves.
-
Dear Ninja, There's a lot of changes we're making to the game which you will have to find out for yourself. We used to write intensive changes for our players, but this has changed. We're transitioning to a new Patch Notes model which encompassed major changes such as the last Patch Notes being World Blessing. We will no longer include any changes we make to the game in a bulleted fashion, we're going to make our Patch Notes similar to Undertale where the developer does not let the players know anything about the game - it is up to you to find them for yourself and within the community to talk and discover. Thanks, Seth

1.9.8 is out. 1.9.7 came out with the World Blessing. We don't display patch notes anymore and are working on replacing them on the updater with something more relevant.
-
Dear Ninja, We've removed the torrent download links and mirror, these were too much work to maintain and we're keeping solely on our own website. There's also been an update to the download for version 1.9.6 and with all the updated files for the Chunin Exams for those with problems. The updater has had some updates to resolve problems for some users who had a Firewall blocking the updater. If you can't get it to work, simply add the Launcher.exe to your Firewall exception or disable it while playing the game. There also has been a reduction in the size of the installer. Even though, it is about the same size it was - it contains all the patch files up to 1.9.8.
-
World Blessing was a patch also, but we aren't reporting small changes we make to the game anymore. It is up to players to find them. We will post new features and content in detail when it comes out, but it won't be listing the small details. It is just too time consuming for us to keep doing and it is better that players look in the game for them.
-
You can buy them in stacks, but only one player can use them at a time for a 1 hour duration.
-
It is from Pokemon Planet, but I did this far before Pokemon Planet did with my old game. Rory was inspired by Pokemon Planet since he does art for that game and a lot of the game content.
-
The blessing is going to be 1 hour, but we may change this time or add more options.
-
On the Twitch, we may eventually add it to the game client.
