Since there is going to be only 1 village to start out, what'll happen to my character if I want to go to Kiri when it's added? Will I have to remake or will I be able to go to Kiri with that character?
-
Well Rory already said somewhere that he planned on avoiding character wipes as much as possible so I imagine that people would be able to go to their preferred village eventually if they're starting the game in Beta. I think a way to go about this is to make it so that every time a new village is created, each character that existed before-hand is allowed to join that village 1 time as a free-be. Also, it will be for a limited time, just to avoid being able to join that village whenever they're exiled from their own village or in-time, randomly join a village without the Kage's invite.

'Gaara Clan' would technically be...Sand Manipulation. Wouldn't it? Saying 'Gaara clan' is just GOA's way of saying Sand Manipulation though because Gaara isn't a clan. He manipulates the sand..the same way the Fourth Kazekage & the Third Kazekage did before him. But what I think you're trying to say is that it isn't going to be a clan-locked skill.

I've personally always been a fan of big numbers, getting a lot of money but also being harder to purchase things. But lower numbers shouldn't mean harder to purchase stuff either.
-
Well I'm not the one risking getting banned from the forum. If I have to I'll report you as many time as you insult. It isn't a personal thing, I just don't want to see to forum turn out to be another GOA forum because it's people like you, constantly insulting others that turn the forum into a giant messy meaningless argument.

He really doesn't have the right to be 'high & mighty' over BYOND because if you actually took the time to play some BYOND games, they're not all the same. In fact BYOND games have the same potential that Ninonline. As Sipher said, the only difference is the language.

On another note, I think book two is going to be interesting, I really liked Book One. It was a different feel from Avatar: The Last Air Bender. Aang's story was different from this story with Korra in a way that it's equally amazing. Gender doesn't change anything, it should have been something you would have expected in the show when you know that the previous Avatars weren't just males.

Whatever Sipher said, I agree with. He always has the right things to say lul But on another note, I do want to point out to @ that nothing I ever wrote in my massive post was I ever comparing GOA to ninonline. The only thing I felt was going to fail was the GMs in game because of GOA I'm actually used to not having GMs running around the game, not because I fear that they'll be butt hurt admins. None of what I said was meant to really criticize the system, just more or less throw in my 2 cents on how I feel about the system. So Kazuma, try & keep your insults to yourself.

You're making it sound like if it'll only be 6 or 7 people trying to overthrow the Kage & his 10 top ninja. This game is probably going to be massive so I doubt it'll be small numbers.

Speak for yourself. This is a PVP game. What is being done is that they're throwing in Naruto-canon RP in the game with PVP. It just sounds all wrong & I'm not the only one who disagrees with what is being brought up here. As far as I'm aware, I've never come across a 'good GM'. Giving power to any single person is just power waiting to be abused because it will get abused at some point. I don't see the need for any Village Game Master when we have Kages. From what I've seen is that if you misbehave for a split second, you're getting banned. That's a little overboard. I can see majority of players going to be missing so they don't have to deal with too much control over higher power.

I just want to start off by saying that you should keep the forum & the game two seperate things. I don't want to have to worry about my forum account while I'm on the game. If you could, explain why I need a biography to qualify for RPE? I approve of Head Game Masters. They don't sound like a bad idea to help diplomacy between villages. It would be like an 'in-between Kage'. The way Rory explained it, it's a good idea. As for Village Game Masters, I'll be straight-forward, I think it's rather silly. The definition of the description given here for Village GM is 'Kage'. Why do we need a 2nd Kage? The way we're going about Kages being chosen through election is a good thing (my own opinion). I like being able to choose my own Kage because I'll vote for someone I know is going to do a good job & not want to ruin my experience playing the game. If I make a bad choice, I still have the option to leave the village, not a big deal. What I don't like is that I have to vote (practically mandatory) everyone 2 months for either the same or a new Kage if I want to assure that I keep the same Kage in place. Even though my chances of being a Kage are greater for having an election every 2 months, I don't think time serving as Kage for 2 months is good enough if the election is every 2 months. Sure I think it's great that we get to vote for our Kage but I think that this system is confusing the Naruto-world with democracy. Being a Kage isn't a democracy, therefore we shouldn't have elections based on time. But we should be able to choose our Kages through voting whenever a new Kage is being chosen. Ya feel? Permadeath? I really hate the idea of permadeath entirely when it comes to; losing ranks, posessions, names, whatever else. If being a Kage means that I'm going to be prone to losing my level & my character identity, why bother being a Kage? I'd rather be a level 100 genin and take no risk of losing anything. This is a PVP game, it should stay as a PVP game not a Role-Playing game. With PVP comes tons of deaths, I'd be willing to die as a Kage, so long as I'm not losing my rank just because of a silly permadeath system. Specially if I got my rank yesterday. If there is ever a Kage that abuses their power, they shouldn't be banned for it. Why not? They were chosen by their village members. The villages should face the consequences if they're to ever choose a bad Kage. A player isn't going to get voted Kage simply because they seem nice. They get chosen from respect & all. Also, banning players seems a bit much, just remove their rank & forbid him from ever being Kage with that identity again. I'll start off here by saying this is a very...flawed-system. I can see players going around using the permadeath system to make their characters insanely strong & not in a good way. Even if we have a maximum amount of stats that we could have no matter how many times we use permadeath, I can see players permadeathing until they max out all of their stats so that it doesn't matter if they use a sword or straight ninjutsu or their bare hands. On another note, players who actually want to get somewhere, probably won't get far anyways because who wants to be a Kage if they're going to eventually die in a PVP game over & over again? Sure they don't lose their character but their level is still worth a lot. Like I've said before, I'd rather stay a level 100 Genin as long as I'm not at risk of losing my level. Because I don't plan on reaching level 100 again. Not enough time on my hands. I'm fine with the "How to Start", it's the traveling that bothers me. I don't see how you can maximize how many people travel with the Kage. I can see the entire village following the Kage, using the target system, using concealing skills, etc. I don't see the Kage leaving the village unnoticed. I could also see a Kage inviting 8+ people to escort him just because he can. I'm not being a rebel, I just don't see how you could possibly limit who the Kage brings. Ban him? Too much. Chuunin sound straight ridiculous, not trying to bash, just being straight-forward. A Chuunin Exam is fine requiring a team of 3 Genin per squad but somethings after that seems way too much. Forum posts? You're willing to go on 10 posts per player every 1 or 2 times a month? I would estimate like 2k posts every month at least on spamming stuff for register on the forum. The level is..fine I guess. I can see some reasoning behind this. Registration fee? I'd rather stay Genin, thanks. Sorry Rory, I know you're trying to make the game really fun & all but I just don't like some of your ideas for majority of this thread.

^What he said. I don't think we need a village GM because what it sounds like to me is that there is 2 Kages in each village. The Kage then the village-GM is like a Kage with more authority over some of the things. The village-GM is there to help reassure that the Kage doesn't make stupid decisions, like Rory said but if the Kage is chosen through democracy by the people of the village, they should suffer through the consequences & any good that comes from that Kage because that's who they chose to run the village.

I brought over the ps3 to my friends house and I used a PC monitor because I just can.

Xbox, go home. You're drunk.

I don't play Kinnect games so I don't need the gestures. I also already have my webcam on my computer and my iPhone if I want to make videos. I'm just speaking for myself now of course so I'm not trying to convince anyone that Kinnect is a complete waste of money. People still make videos of course & use Kinnect games (not often though because Kinnect games get really boring quick) but I like to use something more...mobile then a sit still camera if I'm trying to make videos.
-
Honestly? Kinnect is for lazy people. Though it was a great way to show everyone how fast the Xbox One really is by having everything opening so quickly one after another, it's a waste of $100 just because you want to speak to your console, it shouldn't have to be mandatory to get a feature that not everyone wants. Which is why I'm getting the PS4. I don't have the money for that pierce of junk I don't want.

Everything looks fantastic. I love everything. Although I think there might be something slightly off with the water portion, I still love it. What I mean about that is that if you could possible add a ripple effect for when you're standing on water with the shadow. Currently it just looks like you're disobeying the laws of gravity and floating just above the water, in a way.

I don't know what about the PS4 exactly is 'set back' because what they're doing is making a gaming console & if you ask me, it's specs are better then the Xbox One. Xbox One might be a universal console but isn't exactly pure gaming anymore. Each console had their own advancements in their own way neither of which were 'set backs' from the previous console. As for quality for the games, if anyone is set back, it would be Xbox because as I said, they aren't pure gaming anymore. Sony has the upper hand for single platform games releasing really high quality games compared to Xbox One. If you ask me, if I wanted to watch TV, I would have bought cable, if I wanted to listen to music I would have gotten an mp3 or iPod, or something around those lines, if I wanted to watch movies I would have a DVD player. If I wanted to play games I would have gotten a gaming console. I have all of those, Im not saying that I disagree or saying its a bad thing that Xbox One has all those now but why make a gaming console my entire entertainment center if everyone already had all those things? All I asked for was a gaming console that is made purely for gaming.
-
I knew this one thread of a video would lead to a discussion about consoles lmao
-
Playing Final Fantasy X right now. Loving it. I'm thinking about even recording myself play it
-
I would get the Xbox One because I'm not much of a gamer. I would prefer to watch TV then play games or listen to music more then anything else. I'm only getting the PS4 because I visually like the way it looks (not that Xbox One looks bad) but also that it's cheaper & there are some games that are ONLY for the Playstation that I actually want to play. You could also do the music stuff on the Playstation which isn't a problem for me if there is no TV or anything else for it.

If you want to be a spy, make another character, would technically be the same thing without corrupting your main character village hopping whenever a Kage is on. Eye transplants? That also sounds like a bad idea. I'd like to see a good suggestion before I would ever agree to that, personally. Also, off-topic.

The way it should be.
