Sorta like a buffer?

Balance won't really work with this game, there needs to be what is called "Perfect IMblanace." Basically you don't want things to be perfectly balanced because that will lead to a bored and bland game. Imbalancing a game is good technique, though they have to be subtle and crafty, sorta like that "ooohhhh" feeling when you finally understand something. If you make Rasengan or Amaterasu something that can just be spammed, it's unfair. But then again, if you give it a cooldown of 10 minutes, that can also be unfair considering a fight will probably NOT even come close to lasting that long. Balanced games create fixed strategies that become repetitive and annoying, and that can lead to the downfall of many games today. It in fact makes the game LESS strategic because one has to really have an amazing understanding of the game to create new ones and counter older ones - an example being Storm 2. A fixed strategy was to substitute then spam - all the jutsus were balanced but strategies were made that really made the game unplayable and not fun. It got better though with the sub-bars added in. This game needs something called cyclical imbalance, and rather than explain it, I'll use an example. Say that Rasengan is currently the best jutsu to use, and by best I mean it's better than the other jutsus. A bit faster to cast and gives out a bit more damage. Evidently, everyone is trying to learn Rasengan because it's the strongest. But then, someone learns that casting a water style jutsu causes the Rasengan to be countered. Suddenly, everyone goes for Water Style jutsus or they are in search of scrolls that cast this jutsu. But then, many realize that using a Chidori current will not only get rid of the water, but electrocute the player as well. So, then everyone goes for Chidori Current. So, in reality, no one jutsu is stronger than other(that are equal in rank anyway), they have their strengths and weaknesses, that's perfect imbalances. I did reference this from a video I watched a few months back as well.

Sounds fair! I'll put it on the main post. Now all we have to figure is what which summon can do xD other than fight of course. How did you figure this out so quickly?!
-
Really unbelievable that you've been here for two months and already started an early alpha test! Kudos to the team, happy monthiversary!

Welcome, please don't forget to sign my boobs.

I know what he means. On the ninja storm games, people always use to spam rasengan which was a pain in the a$$, especially Storm 2. You get hit, get back up, they teleport and use it again. The rasengan is made so fast and it moves so quickly, you need excellent reaction time to catch it.

No! Lol, they should definitely not be random. I mean, you should definitely start off with easier summons such as Ninken ~ but everyone should have the oppurtunity to unlock a summon. Extremely hard is an overstatement, Naruto and Sasuke could summon at early ages, though they are special cases. It should definitely depend on your sensei and mission though. This is a good starting point.

It's not that bad man, world bosses could be fun xD. Though the actual beast would be better fitting as a world boss than the jinchuuriki
-
I should probably put this in the OP - pretty well said IMO.

I want it implemented, but having the Hokage pick is too troublesome. Considering that there will probably be more than 100 people actually in game -- picking can take too long and can be a bit intimidating.
-
Yeah, but once you bind with a contract, you are subject to it and can't leave. Hopefully it will be added because this can be one of the most exciting parts haha. I also really wanna see the pixel art for summons!

Like pokemon hahaha Every 30 sounds good. When will you be able to get your first summoning? Genin @ Level 30?
-
Well, that's if they can get rinnegan xD Sounds good, though I feel like there should be some benefits from having a dog with you
-
Sharingan is needed xD. I know that the Inuzuka clan has dogs, but that's about it for clan summons.
-
Oh that reminds me. How will the Inuzuka and dog relationship work as well? xD
-
Totally agree There should be another skill bar when you unlock your summon called "Chemistry". More points means that the summon will listen to you more and will came to your refuge when you're in battle.
-
Yeah that's what I was thinking. But looking over it, summons can be helpful outside of fights as well. You can maybe summon your Hawk to help you travel to another village quicker. There should be like a 30 minute cooldown or something of that nature, just to make sure that summons won't be spammed.

I feel like Pain's summons would be harder to unlock, considering that they're exclusively for Rinnegan users.

What summons do you guys want added to the game? Also, at what level will summons be available? Naruto was able to summon a toad during the Chunin Exams and what not, but, how long do they last and what are the advantages to summons. I feel like certain summons should have certain advantages and disadvantages just to create a balance and more of a Naruto feel. Rory's Decision: I've done my research, and I think I know how I want to do it. I'm going to make the land of toad, along with a Ryuchi Cave or the slug forest. If you have a Kuchiyose no Jutsu scroll, you can learn it, but using it should only teleport you to the temple of the animal which your character is affiliated to (randomly). This is the easy option to get a summoning contract made. You will complete a series of quests to earn the favor of the animal or defeat them, depending on which animal. Alternatively, somebody else who has contracted that kind of animal may help bring you there, but there will be higher level requirement and it will cost a large amount ryo to do it this way. This encourages players to go with the flow and sign contracts with an animal they are affiliated to, or to seek out powerful senseis like the Sannin were to follow in their footsteps. I also have decided that a limit of one per character would be better, and give each character a tighter identity. IDEAS SO FAR: Noimo: Here's a very interesting twist on the fact that this game is a 2D-MMORPG, why not make it so that certain monsters will drop a quest starting item such as a 'Summoning Contract' where you have to defeat a certain amount of a certain type of monster(IE: Wolves, Toads, Scorpians, Slugs, Snakes, etc) and after defeating that tier you will receive another quest starting Item as a reward which will require you to defeat the next tier of that monster. The quest would turn into a chain-quest of sorts leading up you receiving the final quest which requires you to defeat a boss-type or elite-type that type of monster and upon defeating that monster you can complete the chain-quest and get a Summoning Jutsu Scroll which gives you the ability to summon the bottom tier of that monster and allows you to get quests from certain NPC to learn the next tier of that summon and so on. Just a thought though. Vali Lucifer: I like the idea of summons being used for certain purposes and only a limited amount of summons per person. Based on the Manga/Anime only Nagato has been shown to have more than 2 type of animals/creatures if I am correct. So make it that at a certain level you may pick 1 and depending on what you pick you can or cant pick another depending on what it is. For example if I get a high enough level and choose Slugs as my first contract, Slugs would be my primary and I could use them to heal myself and comrades, but because I chose Slugs I can't have summons such as Toads as my secondary and instead I could have Ninja Dogs for tracking as my secondary. Different animal summon serving different purposes sounds like fun, but proper cooldowns for all of them will make the game seem more natural. Joker1480: For Rp events, maybe fighting big summoning creatures, (if it's possible to do that in this game) but regular pvp one sumon at a time and keep them player sized, I say. Maybe they can be just like the scorpions we fought, but with 2-3 moves they can use that would be specific to the summon you use? Some would move faster than others and all that technical stuff for balance, I guess. The one summon per person, and only summoning during 1v1 matches would probably be the best way to implement it with the least amount of lag.

Just meh for me xD Storm games haven't been that amazing since Storm 2. Original one and 3 were my favorite though, have to admit.

Computer parts and a summer reading book called "Day of Empire"

Thanks for the welcome guys!XD After re-watching the Madara vs Naruto and the Elite Ninja fight, I feel as if those two are in a league of their own really. Hidan should be considered S-Rank, though his moves are limited to close/mid range taijutsu and his special reaper death seal technique. haha thanks man, hope that the build works for your friend

Sure you're not the only one lol x thanks! I also adore writing, shoulda added that in my OP, ah oh well.
