    If they didn't keep the chunin rank if they passed then they wouldn't have anybody who would want to take the test yet. People would just wait but if you could be one of the first to pass the test you should be given the title you should be allowed to keep it, as simple as that.

    By rank I'm assuming you mean level? Just because you keep your ninja rank doesn't mean you get to keep your level.
