Dear Ninjas, I've been taking a break from doing tiles in the past 2-3 days. Instead, I've managed to complete a large amount of things I needed such as the female sprite base, death animations, hairstyles, making item paperdolls for both genders etc. As I'm too lazy to write a development log today, I'll just be sharing the preview I prepared for everyone to see without much in-depth explanation of what was required to make what you see. Remember, we have in-depth development logs with even more previews for registered users on the forum to view! So if you're passing by Nin Online community and you want to see more previews or in-depth game creation material, please do register on the forum and introduce yourself! These are some of the hairstyles that you will be able to choose from in-game. I'm dedicated to making an extensive amount of hairstyles for each gender. On the first release, there will be 7-10 hairstyles for each gender, each of which will be available in 27 different colors. This would mean 378 - 540 possible hair combinations. I'd think this is a start. I'd also like each of them to be appealing to different kinds of players. I'd like for each Ninja in the game to look very different as much as possible. Bumping into an identical looking player should almost never happen! I left out one male hair by accident, so I'll save that for a future preview.. or will I? Here's another quick preview at some paperdolled items I've completed. Looks simple eh? I have to mention that all these items are completely paperdolled with 88 frames per gender. The character above consists of.. Gloves Vest Inner Shirt Pants Shoes Hair Mask Paperdolls, each of which consist of 88 frames. 88 x 7 = 616 There was 616 sprites I had to do to make that Anbu right there! But the final result is pretty fun to look at. He'll be appearing in some videos eventually so you can see the animations. That's all for today! Rory's Development Log #4 Kunoichi & More! Hey everybody! This is the first time I'll be posting a development log in a little over 2 days. But we're still on track and moving forward, not to worry! Female Sprite Base [/info] Good news for all our female followers (which I doubt exist) or guys who'd like to play as a Kunoichi (more likely). I've been working on something important for the game - the female sprite base. With 88 animation frames, it's was definitely not an easy task for me, but it was important as hell to finish before moving on to other paperdoll items, or anything else at all. After this, I'll need to make the paperdolls for the items done for the male, work for the female base as well. These are the walking animation frames. These are some of the attacking animation frames. I know being bald doesn't exactly make her seem very feminine. So here is a demo of her with a test hairstyle. It really brings out her eyes. [info=And more] I've also managed to get another paperdoll done for the male base. Something I'm sure a lot of people will like. ANBU Vest! NOTE: The clothes underneath aren't "Anbu Standard Uniform", but I haven't got short sleeved shirts done or tighter pants. So bear with it for the moment! About releasing my spritesheet and other stuff There's a good reason why I don't mind posting up my work in this form, ready for people to take and use. It's not because I encourage that they do. But as much as I want to create the game, I hope that in future these development logs will show a process or example of what is needed for others to create a game like Nin Online. This said, nobody is to use the sprite base, or any other of Nin Online's artwork for any other game. It's been done so many times in the history of Nin Online, that I'm almost certain some noobs will come around and try to edit the base slightly, make a shitty game and try to gain attention from that. I wouldn't bother taking any action early on. Seeing as how if you can't create your own sprite base or art, you aren't competent enough to make a game anyway. If on the off chance that you do release it, I'll consider taking legal action.

Thank you! I assure you it won't be My version of the answers for these would be more about the launch. 1) On the launch of the game, you will only be able to play as a Leaf ninja, so the only village will be Konoha. After this, we will spend time sorting out potential issues, make things more fun with one village in mind, before we launch a second village. Hopefully, in the long term, we will expand upon this further and make even more villages. But this will be at the expense of staying true to the series, seeing as Konoha and Sunagakure are kind of the only two villages that are shown a lot in the series. 2) Wars will take place when there is 2 villages. So this will be launched as additional content post-launch. 3) Yes, we are!

Hahah! Masashi Kishimoto's plotlines never let the fans down. Unlike Bleach has done for me so many times.. On second thought.. Pain reviving everyone was a let down. But we all hoped it would happen. Who wants Hinata to die

Rory's Development Log #3 Will of Fire Monument / Konoha Memorial Training Grounds WIP Hey everyone, Here on time to provide another development log. I'd like to mention that any tiles I do, I create bearing in mind making it as re-usable and ready for in-game use as possible. I normally go through 3-4 hours of spriting, plug the tiles straight into map editor, and it will work perfectly because I had already thought it through. In the past, I used to create buildings and tiles more like creating mock ups. I wanted to get it to look good, not bearing in mind the scale for the game, the size, whether I could divide it into 32x32 tiles like I needed to. This led to a whole bunch of useless graphics that needed rework before it saw any practical use. This time round, I've done the Will of Fire / Konoha Memorial. To explain what I just mentioned above, look at this.. I use those walls for a lot more than you see right there. The graves are actually using the same base. So only one 32x32 box is changed, but there can be 8 variations with those few tiles above. The stairs are reused a lot as well. The curved background is a pretty unique structure, so it's only going to be used once. Alright, so on with the Training Grounds. In the Naruto series, you have a bunch of training grounds, a lot of them being very dark looking. Like the forest of death. The one which I've done the entrance for is.. http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Zeroth_Training_Ground The darker tileset is done for.. http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Mount_Jofuku But they will also be used for many others. Like the famous Chunnin Exam Forest of Death. Now that gate looks a little plain eh? Well I have two signs I plan on re-using else where, that I made into separate tiles. Dear Shinobi, Today I worked hard on bringing this building to life. It's the life of the village, where every ninja goes through his basic training. You will study, train and make friends here as an academy student before you become a Genin and embark on missions. That's all for today's updates. As promised I'll get something out everyday. Remember, each day that goes by is one day closer to our Open Beta in July!
