I disagree, I think people should get used to these controls if you want to play Nin. It's not that hard. Also WASD and Arrow Keys are already useable for movement. Our page down, end keys etc. are already used as macros for facing directions.

Just a shoutout to some lesser known games I hope everyone should atleast have heard of.. I'll post up more if I remember. These are mostly smaller games which have impacted how I imagine the way a game world should exist.. Endless Online and Illutia are very old and popular homebrew Online RPGs which I played when growing up. Beautiful games!

I will bring over those original designs into the new art style I agree that they look fabulous, I had little to no references on what kind of masks there were, so I just did them originally based on animals I liked.

Since we're on the topic, time to show off some old stuff!

I don't have the time to debate with somebody who can't tell the difference between good and bad GUI design, whether my 5 years old design or my new design is going to be in the game.

That is not true. Sorry, but those graphics suck horse balls. I was like 14 or something when I made it.

There's lots of shout outs to the old game in the new one, like how I wrapped the Shuriken in the ring similarly to how a kunai had that circle over it. I also reused that red thing in the new Konoha, I did work on it a lot though. It was a gift from somebody else, I didn't do the original, but I loved it so much haha!

I've done my research, and I think I know how I want to do it. I'm going to make the land of toad, along with a Ryuchi Cave or the slug forest. If you have a Kuchiyose no Jutsu scroll, you can learn it, but using it should only teleport you to the temple of the animal which your character is affiliated to (randomly). This is the easy option to get a summoning contract made. You will complete a series of quests to earn the favor of the animal or defeat them, depending on which animal. Alternatively, somebody else who has contracted that kind of animal may help bring you there, but there will be higher level requirement and it will cost a large amount ryo to do it this way. This encourages players to go with the flow and sign contracts with an animal they are affiliated to, or to seek out powerful senseis like the Sannin were to follow in their footsteps. I also have decided that a limit of one per character would be better, and give each character a tighter identity.

@Noimo I like that idea a lot, I will consider this. It would be much more fun than buying a scroll and suddenly being able to summon toads. It'll also make the player feel better, that he's earned it. In any case, there should be a scroll to summon portals or teleport you to a special land of toads, or land of turtles etc. Will be fun creating such temples, and quests surrounding the area!

Are you using a 64-bit windows system? If you are, you need to manually register a dll called dx8vb.dll Google it also just note that you still won't be able to connect to the game as its currently down until further notice! But it'll be good to get this sorted out before the next test so you can get right in once it's up.
