Most of our player base is American, I made the initial mistake of organizing in my own time zone (+8GMT) and so I've to move it back to a time convenient for both me and the majority of the player base. As I've said, I apologize for the bad planning to those who I have inconvenienced!
-
And if they ever do, that's where Game Masters come in to ban them.

Dear Ninja, There's an update to the launch time and it's been changed to 10:00AM on 15th September, Sunday. (-8 GMT). Check the timer post on the front page for details! Sorry for any inconvenience caused, this launch timing will suit better for the majority of players. We will try our best to plan further ahead in future. Regards, Rory

No, you're free to post screenshots and anything you like about the game

They still don't get any bonuses besides RP benefits and early access for testing phases. It's pretty fair. It's good that we release the game to a closed, smaller group of players to test before the more massive test which will be the open testing phase. Who else fits this role better than the most loyal supporters, out Gold and Silver ninja!
-
I'm thankful for all the support, nice comments and excitement being expressed! We're lucky and honored to have such a loyal fan base

Glad to see you back what was your username back then? I'm glad you had confidence in me. The saddest email I had to send out was the cancellation of the project. But at the end I promised I would bring it back one day. Nin Online is the game I've always wanted to make, and always will.

Just follow the clock timer. It'll give you the accurate time.

Dear Ninjas, It's my pleasure to announce that we'll be releasing the game this Sunday (15 Sep - time in the post below this one) for all Gold (& Silver) Ninja. This will be the first phase of the 2nd Early Alpha Test. The second phase will of course come a few days after that and be open for everyone else! About Forum/Game Accounts Take note that now that the Authentication server is complete, the server will be accessed with your forum login name. Once in the game, the name that will display as your Ninja's name will be that of your forum display name. In preparation for the release, all members have been given a free name change! The server will only be accessible to accounts which have donated for the Gold Ninja Badge. Why get Gold Ninja early? Don't miss out on the chance to get into the game world early (though you will not have much of an upper hand besides experiencing the game & it's new content earlier), get your Gold Ninja badge by visiting the Nin Online store. A reminder is that the Early Gold Ninja Reward is still up for grabs until this Sunday where the extended offer will finally close for good. From then, the Gold Ninja Forehead protector will never be available again! Offer is now over! When will normal players get to test? We're hoping to clear a large amount of bugs before releasing it to public, but at the same time we want to test for more bugs and things we can improve on with a smaller testing group - hence we're calling for our benefactors to do us the favor. The public test could be anytime from 4 days to a week later! How will I get into the game? You will be provided instructions through a forum PM when the Alpha Test is about to commence. Regards, Rory

Yeap you just buy tokens to spend at the festival. I hope to do some sort of mini game for the market someday. The idea was mainly inspired by a holiday I went on to Taiwan, it had the craziest night market filled with games and great good so I decided Konoha had to have a place like that.

Dear Ninja, It's been awhile since the last development log. I thought I'd share some sweet news about the development along with some pretty screenshots to please your eyes for the time being. We've been taking trips to visit Konoha between our long hours working on the game, and I can only describe the place with this word - "Home". Each time I log in and visit the pier I feel like I could just chill with my friends there for hours and talk about anything! I can't help but feel proud that I built this village myself with this as the objective. I wanted to create a home for all the leaf ninjas to feel like they belonged somewhere. I was largely influenced by Ragnarok Online in my teenage years to know the importance of creating a grand hub where players could enjoy just hanging out with their friends in. Ignore the naked, bald men selling food in the night market. This is a picture of our visit to the Night Market today. It was rather cloudy as you can see! Update on Authentication Server Abhi has gotten the Authentication server done and almost bug free. What this means is that as I type this, I'm playing Nin Online with my forum account! It won't be long before we release a stable client for everyone to play. Update on other problems Unfortunately, the 1024x768 resolution is still not optional at this point in time. We're going to work to fix this as soon as possible. It's a problem which mainly affects those who use 1366x768 monitors (mostly laptops), and it's a problem we want to fix. It is quite a bit of work required though. Update on content Abhi is likely going to revamp much of the mission system which is in place at the moment. It's isn't adequate if we want to build the game around interesting missions for everyone! The Academy Student phase of the Leaf Village up until the end of the Genin Test and graduating is complete! The Konoha outskirts are much much more vast than they were before now. Hope these screenshots can satisfy your thirstiness for Nin Online for the time being while we work hard to push for a release as soon as possible. All I can say is Gold Ninjas should stay tuned for a closed test really soon! Regards, Rory

Aww, but you made the forum so much more fun :3 I'll probably have to run my own fan art contest soon.
-
NPCs can also chat through speech bubbles like normal players
-
Thanks for the overwhelming support thus far! I've been receiving so many applicants. Once again, if you are interested please send me a PM containing an example mission script which includes dialogues and explanations of what is going on in the scene.

I disabled the default IPB App because it sucked. I like browsing my forum the way it should be browsed, not as a simplified faux app version of my site.

Dear Ninja, Nin Online is to be a game chock full of unique missions where the players have to be assigned from either a Jounin, Kage or Mission Assignment desk. Creating fun and engaging missions and side-missions are not a simple task. It can take hours or days of work for a complex one, and hours just to polish it and ensure its working fine. The systems are all in place for a team of hard working mission writers, and as such we are looking for people to take up the role! Role The Mission Writer is the person who is able to write and come up with unique missions based on Nin Online's storyline who is also able to learn the eventing system and work with it to create these experiences. The process will start with writing a storyline and proposing it, and then logging into the game and writing events and mission dialogues. The entire system is visual and does not require any scripting! The mission writer will also need to use placeholder graphics and request for the required graphics to be done by the art team. Requirements Above all, I am looking for dedication. You will need to invest a lot of time into learning the system, and once you've familiarized yourself with the system you will still need hours to complete a simple mission with polished dialogues. You need to have very good English writing abilities, large vocabulary and not be prone to sounding amateurish as a writer. You need to be fun. A lot of missions will require some comical style dialogues as opposed to sounding serious all the time. You need to know everything about the Naruto series to bring very realistic missions to live. If you are interested in this role, please contact me through PM. There are currently only 2 openings for this role, and you will be given a trial period before confirming you position on the team!

Once again my shocking lack of Naruto knowledge leaves Rory in despair
Ueda replied to topic's Robin in Discussion
He's been calling Kakashi Takeshi for the last month or so. More screenshots of me and Robin adventuring in Konoha soon. Some of Fernando, Kimi and me as well! -

Say whut Atrox. What I meant was using Raiton/Lightning to enchant your weapon temporarily by flowing your elemental chakra through it. What it would do is give you increased weapon damage, speed etc. for a short while. Raiton would give you an attack speed bonus, while fire would maybe give attack damage for example. I don't see how this is lame at all. There's going to be a wide arsenal of jutsus a player can have, and at one time he can use as many as he likes as long as it's within his spendable chakra amount. There are also longer cooldowns for things you might find OP or ways to weaken such things. Everything can be balanced somehow in my opinion. While some things are just not worth trying to balance, BYOND is never a good example. Most of the developers don't really have grasp on this.
