  1. Not typing a comprehensive response to this, but just know all of this is already being considered with the exception of Taijutsu weapons. The downside of Tai weapons is the fact you lose all your attack speed scaling which all your AGI gives you, the trade off becomes bigger as your AGI stat increases because you're losing out on all that attack speed. Medical Ninja just needs balancing. Others are things being worked on.
  2. Why would we incentivize playing on weekends when weekends are the most active already. Also, there'll never be a point in Nin where we do 2.5x/3x EXP. That's a private server. That's also a very common and disgraceful method used to gain activity from new players. Why it's disgraceful is, people train hard for months or years to get something, and devs decide to make it 3x easier later. Basically, everyone's time before this was worthless and meant nothing. Here newbies, take all the stuff that everyone has worked hard for ez, cheap and free.
  3. There's a bunch of new cash shop item released. First off, Hashi Set. An outfit with Demon Slayer inspiration, the design is based on classic male Japanese school uniforms. Wear it just as a school uniform, or throw an overcoat over it to make get that definitive Hashira look. This is the first cash shop item that I've done the art for since Face Bandages in 2019. All my time since then has been dedicated to working on programming and adding free in-game content, so please give me your support! The second cash shop items released are the first Furniture Cash Item (Scroll Pillars). We're open to feedback about pricing on these. This current pricing was decided based on feedback from players. We understand that a lot of players want to have more reason to own a house, as right now it is purely a novelty. We know this, and we intend to add plenty of functionality with houses in the future, including using it as a Spawn Point and having Stashes/Storages. Added notification when you received mail (while you're online) Improved server performance We noticed a flaw in server performance that potentially made server loops (where things are processed and calculated) get skipped in the event of lag. This could potentially cause issues like projectiles being farther behind than they should be and item effects to not be processed. We're not sure if this will solve those particular issues, but it potentially caused them. Also did some general optimizations that shaved off around 5-10ms off some of the server processes by cleaning up "for loops" that looped over empty maps/players etc. Fixed players getting knocked back into walls This was happening with jutsu with more than 1 tile knockback. Fixed furniture not returning to players through mail when they didn't have a mailbox at the time the landlords tried to send the furniture back Also, fixed global mail, allowing us to send mail to all players Misc.     Corps Cooldown

    We've already programmed this functionality in when we moved to the new corps system. Just waiting on community feedback and Erox to determine what the ideal cooldown is for each corp I believe.

    Hey! Welcome back. 2008 was a crazy time, I was just a 15 year old kid myself with no idea what I was getting myself into. This iteration of Nin Online started in 2013 from fresh and it's a bigger and better game than I ever planned in 2008 hahah. I hope you like it! Also, Robin still helps from time to time when there's a programming problem that's really evading us. He's very capable and a last resort because his time is worth too much to bother him sometimes. EDIT: Your username is familiar, did you happen to help me out with pixel art at some point? I only remember a guy named Soccertise.
  13. Functional TVs Currently testing it on live server, but should be available for players soon. You'll be able to showcase any YouTube video through a TV by copying the URL of the YouTube video in your Clipboard and then interacting with a TV. Before the barrage of people complaining about how there's so many issues with this and that and we're here working on TVs, let me explain. Kenock suggested it as a funny idea one day, I brought it up to Wolf mostly jokingly but said we had more important things to work on at the moment. So Wolf spent his off days working on it. There was no equivalent exchange between getting this or some bug fix because Wolf just really wanted to experiment and add this in his spare time. Also, this was one of the most complex features to add because it's unprecedented in any game using the technology we're using, so it's actually pretty crazy that he made it work.   15. Thing is right there you're talking about multiple separate issues. None of it is just "lag".
  16. We're profiling the server to figure out what is causing the server to lag for players. From what we can tell, the process of loops where projectiles are processed is sometimes taking a long time to process. Which may cause up to 0.5s delays on some other processes. Theres also a bunch of changes on how the client draws certain things which may accentuate how bad things feel when there's lag. We're actively working on making things more performant and seek your understanding. That being said, I'll host the old server and client alongside the current one for awhile for people to experience what that actually is like in a couple of days. Things are often looked back at with cherry tinted goggles.

  18. I love this! I've never considered the "prestige" thing and displaying it on the UI. That's really cool. We have a lot to work on at the moment, but we'll definitely consider this in the future.
  19. This is a problem that would've always happened if the server lagged in a certain way (projectile calculations/position loop), but has been made apparent with smooth animations. We'll get to addressing what's causing it soon.

    The current organization system is only meant to facilitate official organizations that will have stuff like unique equipment, unique jutsu. In the future, we will be working on a guild system that lets players control every aspect of it, and anyone can make one. Players will be able to level up the guild and unlock more things like guild emblem, guild size, guild storages etc.

Players who already own houses in enemy villages will no longer be able to pay rent for that house and will lose the ownership in time. /ignore is no longer case-sensitive A long running problem was when players used /ignore to block someone, it saved it on the server with the case/capital letters used in the command eg. /ignore DoGe would save as DoGe and so trying to unblock doge/doGe/Doge would not work. Added confirmation prompt when double-clicking to buy an item Players have long complained that they accidentally buy things while just browsing the shop. This will prevent accidental purchases. Queued Player & NPC Movement Animations (Reverted) To make visuals smoother even when there is lag Also fixed an issue causing NPCs to skip forward a tile visually when it lagged. Fixed setting players as co-owners/banned/regular guests Would update for everyone on the house guest list instead of the selected guest. This was actually just a visual bug, but was confusing. Others Optimized cursors (Better FPS for all) Fixes to Mailbox System (yet to roll out) Fixed knockbacks not moving the character visually when it was performed by a character moving diagonally.
