Dear Shinobi, Today, we are happy to celebrate the 1st year of development of Nin Online in it's current form! To celebrate, I've written out a short article in hopes of getting you to feel my joy. Back in the days Back in 2006, when I was just 12, I got really into the Naruto series. I thought to myself "how cool would it be to have an online game where you could be a ninja in this universe". This was way before I even knew what copyright laws were. I had set too high expectations for myself and started a community in which I could not satisfy, and I ended up disappointing them time and again. In 2009, I announced the end of the game's development. I knew I wouldn't have been able to finish the game with my abilities. I was 16 at that point. It's been 1 year since the day I opened Adobe Photoshop and re-envisioned the game of my dreams as it is today. On this day a year ago, I restarted the project which I had attempted to create as a kid, the game which back then I realized I was too incompetent to create, with the promise in one final email to my supporters that "I'll bring back the project one day, and make it work." A ray of hope With the knowledge and experience I had gained in the years following Nin Online's death, I decided to bring back the game. I didn't expect much, I set my targets low. I just wanted to make a simple RPing game as a tribute to the old times. I opened my usual design tools and started pixeling away at what would now be the basis of Nin Online's new visual style. Overwhelming support Then came everyone in this community. A large community of members flocked here and put their hopes in me and my new attempt. We managed to launch a great, successful first alpha test where hundreds of members logged in at once to explore the world developed by our team. An overwhelming amount of people with faith in our team have donated to the game to keep the project funded, allowing us to have conveniences such as a server to work with 24/7 and to commission artwork for the game. Helping hands from Eclipse community ensured the smoothness of the alpha, with people familiar with the engine providing us support in our time of need and offering support to the members of the forum as well! Determination This support from our community of course powered our determinations to create a great game and to continue to grow our vibrant community here on the forum and here we are a year later, with our developers working hard at creating content and features for the game and our moderators managing the community and all it's spunk. Words of thanks No words can express my gratitude, which goes out to all the long-standing members of the community, the ninjas here who have stayed with us since the start of the project. The whole team is thankful for your support, and we hope that you continue to do so for as long as it takes for us to create this game! Personally, I am moved by the enthusiasm that everyone has shown since day one. Your community and game There has been so many occasions in which the opinions and ideas of the community members has impacted the decisions made on the game itself, and as such, your criticism (though I make myself out to be a authoritarian leader) has shaped the game to what it is and will be in the years to come! Alpha Test 3 Now for the announcement you've all been anticipating. We are set to open the game world for testing again on the 31st July for all Gold/Silver Ninjas. This will be in a matter of weeks! There is a lot of new features and contents, and we've refined out base systems a lot, ironing out old bugs. However, as we anticipate new bugs and problems, we will be weeding it out to our biggest supporters, the Gold/Silver Ninjas before opening it to everyone. Once we've done substantial tests with this closed group and deemed the game stable enough for an open release, we will open the servers to everyone. I hope everyone is as excited as we are! Sincerely, Rory2 points

Neither do we! You see, the purpose of closed testing is to weed out the problems before he masses rush in and realize it's not working right. The only reason we even open to up a larger group is to stress test We don't have an obligation to open the server, we could leave it to just developers until we release a full game. But since we're really nice people, see you online then2 points

Introduction We're introducing a new testing stage for Nin Online, it is called Early Access Testing Phase. In this period, players will be able to play the game for a short period of time (15-60 minutes), such as to stress test to prepare for the Closed Testing Phase. Details How do you become a veteran? You must have Gold Ninja or Silver Ninja for at-least 6 months, be a friend or family member of one of the staff, or invest into the game. Investing basically means that you have contributed more than the required amount to play the game early such as a $25 or more, something which takes a lot of faith in the project to do and is something we appreciate a lot. This does not mean we're going to make the game P2W (pay-to-win), but it is a way to show gratitude to those who make the game possible. Also, the more that you donate to it, the greater chance that you will be selected. Those that have contributed $50 or more, will most certainly get in these tests. You will be given a special user group permanently called Early Access whenever you are selected to be apart of these tests. We will post a topic with a timer a week before the test, if you reply to it your chances of getting into the Early Access group will be strengthened, and the more constructive your reply is the better. Players apart of the Early Access group will be sent a mass personal message when the test is about to start usually within 1 hour, and it is up to you to be on when it happens. All accounts will be wiped for each test including the one before the Open Testing Phase. Date These tests will be at random times, and we will create a forum topic a week ahead of the time it will happen. Make sure to subscribe to the Gold & Silver Lounge forum to keep up-to-date on these testing periods. We will not mass email for these tests, it is only for people who are active on the forum.] If you get notifications for personal messages, you will get on in your email an hour before the test. No rewards will be given for testing, but it is a way to help the game improve.2 points

That type of attitude is why so many good things end up failing. Hype is built up to make a product feasible to complete, without hype nothing can give it momentum to flourish, but people like this cause the product to have to be released earlier than what the developers wished it to be which causes a backlash and this basically lead to a product's demise. So many good games have failed because of it, and I don't tolerate it or listen to people who follow it.1 point

So before I began, I will say that I did this for Amazi. She challenged me to try something that I didn't think I would be good at. I'm not the biggest fan of drawing art or painting, However for Amazi I decided to work hard at this and do the best I could do with the little bit of equipment that I had lol. To start, I used a pin. Now of course this is the worse thing you could possibly do with the draft of your art project as I had no way of erasing the mistakes I made on my drawing. I decided to go with something basic. So instead of drawing something extremely complex or too hard, I took multiple pictures of Kakashi and pieced them together to draw his face. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would have been. Take my word for it, Kakashi's ears are bordering on suicide using a pin. ha ha Here are the portraits I decided to use for Kakashi. Looking at those pictures was tricky and for some strange reason it was more difficult to find a picture of Kakashi's face online without the sharingan open. I had to carefully draw slow so as to not mess up the the most important feature of Kakashi's face, his head band. Even then, with that pin I probably did more damage than I did good. With further and do, here are the drawings of Kakashi's face that I drew. It goes from the beginning to the full finished colored art work. Using my camera on this was fun. I actually enjoyed this. Amazi was right. :-) I hope you guys like it :-D Oya I almost forgot, I'm not doing this for the art competition, I only did it for Amazi because I promised her. *New Add* Please feel free however, to add this to the competition if you would like to, so as to get the community together. Thank You :-D1 point

You idiots, I reserved that post to post stuff about the competition, not for my entry. Anyone who dares reserve spots after this will get warnings >_>!1 point
