  3. Whack's Development Log #5 More Jutsus & PvP Hello everyone, here's an update on what I've been working on recently. Most importantly is Jutsus. In the last dev log, I spoke about Hiding & Concealment Jutsus. Hiding jutsus will make your player invisible to other players, while concealment jutsus will hide your identity. This means that they can see you, but they won't know who you are, unless they remember what you looked like. Concealment jutsus will last much much longer than hiding jutsus will. The ability to see a player using a hiding jutsu will be determined based on their chakra stat, and the hidden players intellect. Here are the newest Jutsus. Cloning Kawarimi Elemental-based weapon speed/damage bonus Stun Animated projectiles These jutsus require lots of testing, which has been done by Rory and I. In the next alpha, these spells will be used by players so that we can test for bugs and other errors. We have tested these in PvP, and on players. Cloning Jutsu Cloning Jutsus are used to distract and confuse other players. These jutsus do not last very long, and are buff (time) based. When used, a number of clones based on your jutsu's ability will appear around your player, which looks exactly like you in every way, shape, and form. Kawarimi Jutsu Kawarimi Jutsu, when used, will make you appear behind your attacker when they attack you next. If they shoot you with an arrow or fireball from 10 tiles away, you will suddenly appear behind them to fight back by surprise. Elemental based bonuses These jutsus will charge your weapon with electricity, fire, or other elements to increase the damage you will do to opponents. Stun Jutsu This type of jutsu will stun your player for a small amount of time, allowing you to get the upper hand and gain some time to cast a more powerful jutsu, or attack them without them attacking back. Animated Projectiles Thanks to Keezus, we now have animated projectiles for things such as fireballs, including starting up animations, as well as fading away animations and a collision animation. Animated projectiles are also now pixel based, which makes gameplay look much smoother. I am also working on kickback for PvP. I have also been working on many server side improvements and fixes. Anyways, I have to go now. So thanks for reading, and hope you enjoyed the video!   5. Dear Ninja, I'd just like to reveal to your the prologue of Nin Online. It will give you a rough idea of what to expect for the in-game storyline and roleplay backstory. Brace yourselves! Prologue Two hundred years have passed since the 4th Shinobi World War, during which the world was saved from a threat to its existence. It is becoming harder for new leaders to honor the alliances made by their predecessors; the bonds formed during the war are becoming unstable and the peace between villages is beginning to grow questionable. Meanwhile, a copycat group who operate under the same name as the Akatsuki has come to light. Initially not viewed as a threat, the organization was allowed to establish itself before anyone could take notice of them. Their objectives are mysterious and their new leader is unknown. Mankind had made progress in changing age old-traditions of sealing the tailed beasts within power ninja. For years they have roamed the world freely and peacefully, but now have started to behave aggressively. The villages fear the beasts may be under someone's control, and are strengthening their defenses to protect their villages from the threat of destruction and the possibility of another war erupting in their time. Born into a generation which has known only peace and has never witnessed war, you start your journey as an academy student about to venture into the world of ninja. Responsibilities come with every decision you make. Will you become a force for peace and exact your justice, or will you descend into darkness and bring this world to an end?   6. Abhi's Development Log #1 New Login System And Possibly Release Date! Hello fellow Nin Onliners, This is my first Development Log, so please bear with me. Almost the entire community would like to know how and why I became a developer. Along with what I am doing. I became a Developer a few days back. For those who don't I created the Updater. (Its open-source) and I basically helped everyone with DirectX problems. So, I thought why not just help with the game. I am currently working on an Authentication or Login Server. Auth Server/Login Server An Authentication or a Login Server a separate server that will take care of player login and other BTS stuff. This will reduce the load on the game server. The new Auth Server is linked to the Forum MySQL database. It "authenticates" or cross-checks the username and password of the player while login with the actual data. If the details are valid then it starts filling up your account with the necessary data, including your Forum Display Name as your IGN and your forum group. All Administrators will automatically become Game-Admins and all Developers will become Game-Mods. The same with Gold Shinobis. As most of you might be knowing Rory's going to be working on cosmetic items that will be sold in a "Forum-Store" (You can buy it from a store which is going to come up in the Forums.") When one buys items, the item will automatically be updated in the game. The Auth-Server will help a lot in this. Now for the best part, the Release Date. I don't want to spoil on the fun so I am not going to say much. But what I can say is that it is coming soon. (Within the next 10 days.)   9. Whack's Development Log #2 Ninja Creation! Hi everyone, I'm glad to see the community growing rapidly! This is my second development log, and as you may of noticed Rory has four already! How am I supposed to keep up with that guy? Haha, just kidding, anyways I'm doing this fast because I have to go out to a graduation party tonight, and I just got something done that made me want to tell all of you about our progress. Hair Color Selection Your ninja will be customizable in many different ways, one being hair color. So far there are 14 different hair types, seven for male and seven for female. For each hair, there is 27 different colors. Thats over 300 different combinations from hair alone! Here is a sneak peak of the ninja customization screen! As you can see, there will also be 27 different eye colors to choose from, as well as your starting shirt and pant color. All players will start out as an Academy Student, and progress from there. I am extremely impressed by the amount of work Rory has put in, and I am definitely feeling confident that we will meet our schedule for Nin. The two of us work fantastic together, and I can't stress that enough. Our chemistry as high as it can get!
