Rory's Development Log #8: The darker places It's been awhile since my last development log. Since then, we had a short early alpha test release, which brought to light many many problems which we're working on fixing before the near alpha test. I have also taken the time to create and implement new content. In the early alpha, everyone was confined in a bright and shiny Konoha. I've decided to open up the world just a little bit bigger. You can now explore the forests surrounding Konoha and even enter some darker places. Who knows what kind of dangers lie in stall for you outside of the village! Without further ado, here are some of the maps that I've created. For those who don't know much about mapping, it's a lot of work especially for tiles on a grander scale than the usual BYOND 32x32 tiles. It's made harder by the fact you have to balance between layers above the characters and below. Luckily, our map editor is user friendly enough and I've managed to complete 5 forest maps so far. This one is a familiar scene to Naruto fans! Also notice how we've added some really pretty light rays for day time in the maps. We now have a time system, 2x faster than the real world clock. Hiding jutsus will work more effectively at night, so invasions and fights in the night are going to be interesting! On to some.. darker places. These are war zones, so everyone is in danger here regardless of whether anyone has toggled PvP. Here is a blocked bridge. And.. a small road split. Well now that everyone has seen what we've been up to.. I hope you guys understand when I say, there's still a lot to do. We definitely won't be able to make a re-release within the next 10 days. Ninja Biography Guidelines How to get started with your ninja biography for Nin Online! F.A.Qs What is a Ninja Biography? Your ninja biography is a write up of the tale of your ninja in Nin Online. It lists details about your character and sums up his past for others to read. While playing the game, you will encounter many players, some of which you will be interested in learning more about. You will be able to visit his ninja biography when you target him. Why do I need one? Is it compulsory? It really depends on how you want to play Nin Online. If you are simply into going around exploring the missions, and don't intend to interact with the community as much or join any Roleplay Events. You may choose not to create one. You may also decide to write one up much later, before you participate in your first Roleplay Event - the Chunin Exams. The Chunin Exam is a bi-monthly Roleplay Event held by Game Masters, where you get to pit yourself against other players and decide who ranks up in the game! How should I start writing my Ninja Biography? It is not the only way, but I would recommend that Instead of modelling your game character after your ninja biography, you may instead write up your story and describe your character after you have created him and decided how you want to play him in Nin Online. For example, you should leave out things which you haven't decided or attained from your biography, and only add them in once you have obtained them in the game. I want to be an Uchiha, with Fire Element Chakra Nature, A legendary sword called "easdasd" etc. You shouldn't mention things that aren't true or you are unsure you will ever be able to do. You should only roleplay things that are believable for the time being. What happens when your character outgrows his/her biography? For example, he was a leaf ninja but then becomes a missing nin. For the time being, please write you biographers as a Leaf Ninja, because that's where everyone is going to start. In future, once you become a missing ninja or anything happens that makes your biography "outdated", put everything you have written into a Spoiler Tag and label it "Chapter I: Academy Student Beginning" for example. This way, your entire biography will tell a long tale of your beautiful ninja character. Biography Format Things to include in your profile. I have marked the things which you can include anytime as they as regular options in the game, and things which are not a 100% obtainable at the moment or that you cannot guarentee you will have. Please do style it any way you like! Include at anytime but optional Include at anytime Include when you have obtained it

If you add weapons that don't exist in series and things related wouldn't be Naruto anymore, it would be Call of Duty, lol. Things are nice just the way they are, 200 years, so? It's fiction! And it's Naruto, we can't forget that... New jutsus, new technologies... It's okay, but don't change the classic fight style. If there is any weapon, just the old ones, like shuriken, kunai, needles... Please don't create lightsabers. LOL

Agreed. I saw a lot of people saying that would destroy the world. The villains always have a objective, look at manga, Obito and Madara have a purpose, they won't destroy the world, they want a new and perfect world. Not all villains are psychos like some guys in this forum. xD

You know what would be interesting if civilians who couldn't pass the academy got piss off and said fuck ninja and then tried protecting themselves with all sorts of crazy weapons.

Saying this, are we allowed to make suggestions for lore? Big events that took place, perhaps memorials. I think that'd be interesting.

I like it generally. But the copycat group seemed like a lazy way to link it to Naruto once more. Maybe change the color of the group from Red = "Aka" to something else. They would still be copycat but more original this way. Maybe WhiteMoon...in Japanese. Shiroitsuki And white would represent the rinnegan and the cause of the tailed-beasts aggression would be the cause ,of the birth of a new Sage of 6 paths etc etc etc.

Instead of having a Bijuu system where one person controls the bijuu and is completely over-powered, I believe it would be better if each village had their own Bijuu in a dungeon where other villages could raid. By attacking another villages Bijuu, the attackers Bijuu would get stronger while the Bijuu being attacked would get weaker. A strong Bijuu could have benefits, such as an XP boost for the village. Each village's Bijuu would be EXTREMELY over powered, requiring villages to attack in groups to damage it. I believe that a system like this would encourage a village to work together, giving the Kage and high-ranked ninja the ability to plan attacks. Also, it offers a major PvM element for those who don't like PvP. For example: 5 Sound ninjas attack Leaf's bijuu, who has a current level of 5000. After doing some damage, the Sound ninjas get the Leaf Bijuu down to level 4996, in turn making the Sound Bijuu level 5004. If the default level for each Bijuu was 5000, Sound's Bijuu would be a +4, which would make every Sound Villager have an XP boost since it's Bijuu has a positive rating.
