Whack's Development Log #2 Ninja Creation! Hi everyone, I'm glad to see the community growing rapidly! This is my second development log, and as you may of noticed Rory has four already! How am I supposed to keep up with that guy? Haha, just kidding, anyways I'm doing this fast because I have to go out to a graduation party tonight, and I just got something done that made me want to tell all of you about our progress. Hair Color Selection Your ninja will be customizable in many different ways, one being hair color. So far there are 14 different hair types, seven for male and seven for female. For each hair, there is 27 different colors. Thats over 300 different combinations from hair alone! Here is a sneak peak of the ninja customization screen! As you can see, there will also be 27 different eye colors to choose from, as well as your starting shirt and pant color. All players will start out as an Academy Student, and progress from there. I am extremely impressed by the amount of work Rory has put in, and I am definitely feeling confident that we will meet our schedule for Nin. The two of us work fantastic together, and I can't stress that enough. Our chemistry as high as it can get! Thanks for reading, and hopefully this makes you more excited for the July release of Nin Online! Regards, Whack2 points

Dear Shinobi, It's that day of the week that we showcase something for everyone, including the non-registered lurker-nins. This is a conversation that went down on the shoutbox a few days ago! Well, after finish the Hokage building, and some paperdolls, I decided to try do the exterior of the Konoha Hot Springs! alongside some tiles for the Konoha mini-river areas. This is a quick test map thrown together in-game just for this preview, so please excuse the mistakes! There will be "No restrictions" on who goes into which side of the spa. But males entering the female side will be vulnerable to attacks. Haha! So I hope you're excited for this fun little spot in Konoha itself. Till the next public preview day, see you! If you'd like to see more exclusive member-only previews, register on the forum and visit our development log section! Regards, Rory2 points

The reason that it's such a big deal, even if you don't do anything wrong, is that if you do something the government doesn't like, illegal or not, they do everything in their power to take you down. In the past the U.S. government has arrested and destroyed lives of CEOs and others who were not willing to send them their customer's information. Let's say you piss off the government, well they happen to have recorded every phonecall you've ever had, every text message, and every email for quite a while. They use everything they can to scrutinize and cherry pick details out of the things you say. For example, in one text message you were talking to your buddy and you said "The club last night was the bomb". Now the government uses that sentence to say you're a terrorist who planted a bomb in a nightclub. While many people think that it's incredibly silly and who could ever believe such a thing, it does happen, and it will continue to happen. Just take a look at two recently arrested young adults. One of them arrested for making a sarcastic facebook comment, he was talking to someone about league of legends and was called crazy, then makes a sarcastic comment about shooting up a school and eating baby hearts with an lol jk at the end, and he's been arrested. There's also the kid recently arrested for making sarcastic comments in runescape of all places. Someone was being a piece of shit, told him to kill himself, and his reply was basically he would take out everyone in school with him. Despite not having the knowledge, equipment, or capability to even pull it off he gets arrested anyways. I did read a story not too long ago but am unable to find it at the moment where a guy who actually did absolutely nothing wrong, and had nothing to hide, was being mistakenly targeted by the government. From what I remember the guy ended up being in jail for months and was facing up to 8 years in prison or something. Again, the government was cherry picking all of his calls and emails and everything about him to see that he is taken down. Coupled with the fact that people in general are dangerous, shady, and use what power they have as an advantage, do you really think people like that don't exist in the government? I guarantee that there are those in the government who use their spying capabilities for all sorts of reasons. Spy on their girlfriend/wife, neighbor, competition, whoever. Regardless if it's for money or some kind of advantage I have no doubt that happens as well. Edit* Why doesn't the government just let the guy go knowing they fucked up? That's an easy one to answer. The government doesn't apologize because they never think they're wrong, even if they know it. They believe an apology after making a mistake is a sign of weakness and want everyone to think they are and can do whatever they want. On July 3rd 1988 the United States shot down an airliner, Iran Air Flight 655, killing 238 Iranians, 13 Arabs, 10 Indians, 6 Pakistans, 6 Yugoslavians, and 1 Italian, 66 of those people were children. They mistaked the plane for something else and since never apologized.2 points

Rory's Development Log #5 Hokage Building / Office Hey everybody! For the past two days, I've been live streaming my progress on Join.me, it's been pretty fun, having company while I do my work. It's always been my goal to have an open development process, for everyone to watch as we create the game, and this is just one way I can think of that will accomplish that. The link to my Join.me is.. https://join.me/ninonline But I might move to a Twitch.tv Livestream soon, because it's free, and I can have audio on it. It took two days to finish this, but I'm finally done with the biggest building so far, which is the Hokage Office/building. As promised, I'm going to work on the Konoha Hot Springs next. This will be a fun add, especially when we release the game late this month. Note about the "Release" The release we talk about late/end July will be a very basic demo/alpha version with little content to keep you playing. But for the hardcore fans who are staying around watching the development. You'll have a nice little place to chill and hang about rather than the forum Shoutbox! The releases will also be prone to wipes. Without further ado, here are some screenshots of a test map with the Hokage building in it. Once again, thank you for all the members who were with me while I worked on this! If I do choose to live stream what I do next, I'll post the link in the Shoutbox. So stay alert for that!1 point

Rory's Development Log #3 Will of Fire Monument / Konoha Memorial Training Grounds WIP Hey everyone, Here on time to provide another development log. I'd like to mention that any tiles I do, I create bearing in mind making it as re-usable and ready for in-game use as possible. I normally go through 3-4 hours of spriting, plug the tiles straight into map editor, and it will work perfectly because I had already thought it through. In the past, I used to create buildings and tiles more like creating mock ups. I wanted to get it to look good, not bearing in mind the scale for the game, the size, whether I could divide it into 32x32 tiles like I needed to. This led to a whole bunch of useless graphics that needed rework before it saw any practical use. This time round, I've done the Will of Fire / Konoha Memorial. To explain what I just mentioned above, look at this.. I use those walls for a lot more than you see right there. The graves are actually using the same base. So only one 32x32 box is changed, but there can be 8 variations with those few tiles above. The stairs are reused a lot as well. The curved background is a pretty unique structure, so it's only going to be used once. Alright, so on with the Training Grounds. In the Naruto series, you have a bunch of training grounds, a lot of them being very dark looking. Like the forest of death. The one which I've done the entrance for is.. http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Zeroth_Training_Ground The darker tileset is done for.. http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Mount_Jofuku But they will also be used for many others. Like the famous Chunnin Exam Forest of Death. Now that gate looks a little plain eh? Well I have two signs I plan on re-using else where, that I made into separate tiles. Together they will look something like this. Well that's all for today's entry! Thank you for your support, and do leave comments and your opinion thus far in this thread.1 point

Rory's Development Log #1 The Konoha Gates Hey everyone, this is going to be my first official Dev Log on the forum. So hear me out all the way, it's not going to be long. Basically for the past 2 weeks, I've been creating tiles, characters, items, GUI and everything needed for the game in a crazily fast pace. For today, I'll be talking more about the tiles. I've already got enough tiles done to map most of the districts of Konoha, but have not yet started on many specific buildings from the anime/manga. So this dev log will show you some of the buildings I have done, and started on, and plan on doing. The Konoha Gate #1 This is the main gate of Konoha. From my research, I've found out that there are actually 3 of them. Which is perfect, because one central exit is something I never wanted! The other two will look different, and be located to the East side of the village. (I do my research) Ichiraku Ramen One of the most iconic spots in the Naruto universe or atleast Konoha. The ramen house will be run by new management, but will still sell tasty noodles to the ninjas of the leaf village! I've decided to use the ramen as more of a slight stat boost item, it's mostly for fun though. There's supposed to be 5 chairs, but I made some mistakes to the tiling, I'll fix that soon enough! Ninja Academy (WIP) Another iconic place for every Naruto fan. The academy where ninjas are born. This is the exit of the academy. Take note that I may post WIP stuff in my dev logs, because I don't necessarily complete things at one shot. I also want to give more in-depth progress, and show my entire creation process. Still need to do.. From the top of my head, I can think of the following I'll still need to do before launch. Hokage BuildingJounin Lounge(?)Weapon ShopClothes ShopIno's Flower ShopOther 2 of Konoha GatesHotspringsHospitalWell, that's all for today's Dev Log! Stay tuned for more coming tomorrow or the day after. Remember, these are daily developer logs, but we're still trying our best to focus more on actually creating the game, so it might not be as frequent as we wish! Regards, Rory1 point

My name is Light, I'm one of the most badass niggas you'll ever meet and I'm pretty much the epitomy of awesome.1 point

So I know theres gonna be a few buildings, so I'm thinking that maybe u allow clans/guilds the ability to buy a building to call theyre base or even just a player can buy a building and rent out rooms inside of the buildings to other players, that would be an awesome addition to this great game.1 point

The 6 villages IMO should be the ones with the most known clans and kekkai gekkai and those are in this order Konoha, Kiri, Suna, Kumo, Iwa, and Oto1 point

There will be no beta testing, the game will release at the end of july in an alpha state, and be updated as bugs are found, etc. New features will be added, and it will be really awesome1 point

Hey man, thanks for the suggestion Well of course we'd like 6 villages. But it takes time, we're starting with Leaf. We'll develop a solid leaf canon storyline for missions for example. Plenty of content for a leaf ninja, and then move on to doing the next village which will probably be Kiri or Suna.1 point

Love the Idea of the ramen shop, maybe ull add diferent flavors to pick from later on, idk, but its cool1 point

Whack's Development Log #1 Graphical User Interface Hello everyone, welcome to my first dev log! For the past week, I have been working on the GUI, or the graphical user interface. Basically, it is the buttons and visual pieces that you use in game to view your characters stats, your inventory, people talking, and other things not part of the Nin world. For the most part, I am done with the menu interface. It looks beautiful, feels smooth, and the sound effects and music really finish it off. As soon as you open the menu, it will immerse you into the fantastic and exciting Naruto world, and that is definitely something that we want. Although it might seem like an easy task, GUIs are one of the most time consuming and boring parts of programming. I program because I enjoy it, but when I tell you that I hate GUI programming, I'm not exaggerating. It's pretty bad! Alas, I am nearing the end of it, as all I have left is renderring common windows such as inventory, character, options, friends, missions and others. It should only take a few more weeks to finish up, and then I will be working on core gameplay features. Speaking of features... There are a few things I have already programmed into Nin Online. For one, there are over 20 animations for each player. Walking, running, attacking with two hands, hand to hand combat, punching, kicking, breathing, standing, and even dead bodies. This took a lot of work from Rory, and a lot from me as well. No matter how hard a mapper works to make the game look good, animations are what makes a game feel beautiful. The constant moving of water or players makes the game feel alive, and makes it fun for everyone. Anyways, thanks for reading, and I'm looking forward to bringing you all more content soon! Regards, Whack1 point

How I found? First, it was becoming boring playing BYOND Naruto games and that things. Then, I started searching for MMO Naruto games, no result. Started playing BYOND games again, found one awesome Naruto game. Played there for months, then, I joined a group on Skype about that game. Then, 1/2 months passed since I was on that Skype group and they started talking about ninonline. So, I was like "Hm... Finally...". I asked when NinOnline would be released and they said to me "July". So, that was how I found NinOnline1 point

I was reffered the same way as the most of those guys except the fact that I was a pure Leaf ninja on the game and title holder of Kage.1 point

Shush slare, its all about kumo lmao.. Anyways I was referred by hermit but it said stylishninja is my refer but meh. Anyways I only clicked the link because of a dead game community that people still think exists(Goa).. Well I really hope this will be a promising game or else I'll just have wasted another month or so waiting for a game that would dissapoint me.(Not offending any devs or anything) I've just been fucked over with lots of games that cease to excite me. I'm a very picky guy.1 point

In a way its basically a step closer to controlling the internet. The government is really shady, it hides most of its secrets. The 9/11/2001 incident was an inside job, and if you've heard of the Newtown school shooting, that too was also a government done job to make new gun control laws. I probably sound out of line to most, but if you do your research you can really get scared from the evidence the United States holds.1 point
-
Currently the way I believe it works is that the government would still need some kind of warrent or reason of suspecious activity in order to access your accounts pertaining the internet. With the law that they're trying to pass up (that they've been trying to pass on for some time now) they'll be able to access your accounts online without permission. If you're in the government and you want to access someone's account out of boredom, they would be able to do so. I'm pretty sure that's how it would be. It wouldn't even have to be a valid reason or something like "I think he's hacking so I'm going to check him out without his permission or anyone elses permisison or without any evidence." So honestly, it isn't even about making the internet safer, it's just about power over everyone else at all times of the day all year long. The only reason why the bill hasn't been passed last time around was because Obama veto'd it. As far as I know, he'll most likely veto it again this time, his stance on this bill hasn't changed since the last time I checked a couple of weeks ago.1 point
