Issues could arise again as the game is still in Alpha as you say. Even if rank does nothing it still breaks immersion and who is to say you won't change the chunin exam event in future? It's only Alpha....... Just show some consitency with wiping. Like you say Akiro it's an event and if players couldn't be around in Alpha for the Chunin exams but could in the next phase after the last wipe then wouldn't they be annoyed by that? Veterans get treated better in every part of society, if you don't treat the people who have supported you the longest - why on Earth would you treat those who come by for a few minutes to complain? These people are not worth supporting, those who support you are. You either join that club or well, you are just a negative aspect of the community. Those new players are your potential future veterans if they see stuff like this it will turn them away. Just because someone is a veteran doesn't mean they should be treated better. Chuunin Exam is an event. All the events we host in the past will have the rewards kept. Veterans get rewarded. We either reward veterans or reward people who people the most in the game. The more people who get it now, will not have to fight for it later. It is just a feat of strength, you can be a Genin and be the max level. Chunin is not something you have to get. It is our game and we run it how we want, this part of the game is not up for the players to decide. We are making this call ourselves. Rory wanted this and so do I. I listen so much that I feel like hiding sometimes, because of how much I got to read. Chuunin Exam is fine and is not going to change. It supports our veterans and this is what players want. Newbies who join the game can earn it just as easy as the veterans. It is once a month and that's all. I don't see the problem there, it is a RP rank no? - If you would gain more EXP or something as a Chuunin i might understand that disagreement, but since it is just a Title, it doesn't make much sense. Otherwise the first Chuunin after wipe will just be full of people who are already of Chuunin level in terms of skill, or even higher which would give the others an really bad disadvantage. Also I believe it to be a display of skill level, so if you see a chuunin even if they are a lower level than you, you will know that they have been at least playing for a good while. If you want immersion @James then simply make a completely new account via forums. Its simple as that. Chuunin Rank is not tied to your IP Address, its tied to your forum account, so make a new forum account and log-in in game with that. Ueda Posted April 14, 2016 Report Share Posted April 14, 2016 The reason why we're holding the Chunnins before the start of the beta is because I want there to be Chunnins on each village (Sand and Leaf) when beta starts. The game's RP doesn't work well unless we have players of all ranks in each village. The rank carries forward, but when you make your new character you can choose to be in either village.
