The Nin Online community sucks for lowbies

I remember the day I first joined Sand when @TetsuHawk was Kazekage. My name was Red Shadow, and I had reset from Leaf Village because of how weirdly toxic they were. The second I said that, I reset from Leaf at level 14 and I really was new, all hell broke loose. I was cursed at, harassed, picked on, for being an "alt." Thus, started the alt wars where I had gotten many people exiled from Sand for that exact same reason.

This community makes the effort to be as toxic as possible to you while calling you the bad guy, and that in itself makes almost everyone here a hypocrite.

This is the kind of stuff that needs to stop...

These days I got in a discussion in Discord where I said that most old player won't even discuss (or open their mind to review) this aspect of the game because their view is biased on the game being "Hardcore PvP". I've played BDO and other open world pvp with a lot toxicity in the community but this game is a lot more than any of the other game that I've played. Getting killed just by being around trying to do quests and dailies is NOT a fun experience, and with the Steam launch coming I *really* hope that they review this, to prevent new players from quitting the game.

Just an edit to make it clear, I think this game IS GREAT and with an great potential, in my near 15 years of gaming experience I found it quite engaging and fun, but what I said above is a con that almost makes all the beauty and fun of this game bland in comparison.

For most people, the experience of getting slain as a newbie, is the only pvp experience they will have.

Getting to 50 is the only toxic/hardcore part I can think of right now.

If you could fight back, the overwhealming feeling of toxicity would fade out a little more.

But what do I know.

the reason why the game doest have +300 player is because the community is and always was toxic.

it's also because the grind is genuinely a very very very horrible experience, I spent 3 weeks straight grinding the same scarabs over and over every day and I only got to lvl 21 and then I quit the game for good.

I expect to be rewarded for my time and effort not to be spat in the face by the game and then insulted by the community.

If you managed only level 21 after 3 weeks then that means you did something wrong. The game itself tells you not much , because it expects you to communicate with others and be part of your village. Some people are toxic - yes, but nearly every village will help their newbies.

Hello,

Make sure you did your stats correctly. Example: INT, FORT, CHAK for the elements.

Do side missions.

Example: Defeat the Champion - Guren in Takumi

Do ARC Missions.

Example: lv 20 Train Arc in Kage building

At lv 21 it's best to start doing dailies for your main source of experience. Make sure you turn in all missions while there is a blessing for 1.5x increase. Also, do /raid to see additional bonuses.

tbh I'm just not a fan of the grind and a ton of other people aren't either, that's why every new player keeps quitting and the game keeps a extremely small player-base.

It's the biggest reason why everyone quits the game but at least I tried to enjoy it, everyone kept telling me it gets better at so and so levels but honestly this is awful in general. I feel like I'm not being rewarded for my time and effort and it takes way too long to effectively enjoy the game, Also I understand the lead developer loves this type of gameplay but I seriously doubt he actually grinded all the levels and just gave himself everything right off the bat.

So the way the game is and how it functions is not fun in the slightest, especially when endgame takes forever to achieve and a majority of players will never see or get to experience this.

Which will never happen because I quit playing a year ago back in April lol, I just logged back in to see if anything had improved with the grind and nothing had changed.

I really love this game but then again it's completely unplayable and it sucks because this is the only Naruto MMO out there that's worth a damn and the lead dev just doesn't care about player feedback.

When you got you're whole community telling you something horribly sucks and needs to be changed, that's when you need to listen and make changes. But since he has no real competition he just does what he wants and it hurts the community overall because it's not growing, Instead it's saying the same or it's losing players and it's only maybe 200 people or hell even less than that are still even playing daily.

All it would take to fix the grind issue would be to massively increase XP gained from doing literally any activity, you wouldn't even need to add more missions or dailies. Just add way way way more XP for kills, missions, dailies etc.

Also making XP gains scale with levels would be ideal seeing as every MMO out there does this.

I dont think massive increasing xp gain is better for the game long term only because once you hit max level there is not much of an end game unless you love the pvp in this game. But they should find a better balance

But that’s not at the fault of the player, PvP is the endgame as stated by the developers and community.

So making it significantly easier to reach that endgame is ideal because it keeps the players retained long term.

year after year leveling gets easier than ever but the end game remains virtually the same outside of new mechanics to learn (like jumping)

the issue is not that leveling is too hard, its that to many it is not worth the payoff.

That's not the consensus of new players or the community, How can people know that it's not worth the payoff if they'll never get to experience it and quit long before getting the chance to even try it?

This is why I think there should be level brackets in which a level 60 cannot attack a level 20. But there is not enough players to do that.

That's exactly what I mean, All of the issues this game has always leads back to new players quitting and the grind.

Believe it or not, people think they know what they want but are often wrong. Especially when it comes to games. "Consensus" means nothing in this case.

If you are not here for the experience of the journey and only hoping to level faster then the game simply isn't meant for you. Many players persevere through the leveling but quit anyways unless they have developed an attachment to their character or to the community. The easier it becomes to level, the faster people are willing to move on. The game doesn't force you to spend hours grinding mobs but it exists as a method to continue gaining exp outside of side quests, daily missions, bounty hunting, etc.

The game is absolutely boring to play alone, but that's the point. If the mindless grind is too much then take a break and explore, meet new people.
