I have you know ive been hunting since kill and bounty resets happened in the past for about 2 yrs now...Majority of my kills are legit except maybe a small portion... Its true i wont get 1k+ kills. But i think for RP purposes it should be reset. I'm sure if the player who resets with that many kills will get it back..they had that many kills for a reason.
