Minimum Character Count

Akatsuki

Question

Hi everyone! My suggestion is to put something in place where you need to have a minimum character count to post in a topic. This should hopefully stop the people who post 1-2 word responses. My suggestion would be a minimum of 15-20 characters. Thanks for reading :)

I'm on the fence about this, because I feel that there are potential creative comments in the making such as "Goatmilkorexasaurus", that will contain either irony or some sort of pun to complement the preceding post. Not that "Goatmilkorexasaurus" means anything useful, the point still stands.

I didn't set a limit, because sometimes it doesn't take a sentence to express what needs to. It's been done on some forums I've been on before, and it's just a hindrance. People just add things into the start or end to make up for it.

Post count limit requires me to do this. No.

That being said, we do have post farmers, people just doing "Welcome" or "Good Idea" on everything. Eventually, they will reach enough warning points to be permanently banned.

I sometimes don't want to post a fully description on why I agree/disagree with something so I just summarize it short to a "No thanks" or "Great idea" (which I don't normally do, if anyone has seen most of my posts). But they shouldn't be considered 'post-farming' if I'm doing so. I'm just throwing in my 2 cents to help show that the idea isn't getting ignored or getting all negative/positive responses. There are others that'll do the same thing from time to time. But there are others that'll give a reply just to post, which is rather annoying but the only way to get around that is by careful moderation.
