Dear Ninja,

The Spring Festival is over, and now April is on the horizon, which means it's time for your monthly community newsletter! We don't have a lot this month, but a few important things to mention. I'd like to mention Rory might be looking for Forum Mods soon, so if you are interested in helping out the community, get your application in just in case Rory starts looking: Staff Recruitment.

New Prize System
With recent updates, we have implemented a new prize system. Instead of giving Nin Credit for event prizes, Rory has released an Event Coupon item that includes a Prize Shop (located in Takumi Village, North of the Hospital).

These Event Coupons equal about 1 Nin Credit, so things such as World Blessings are 5 Event Coupons. The Prize Shop also includes exclusive items that might not even have a spot in the Cash Shop, so that means you'll get things you can't even spend money on!

We are going to do our best to transition into purely Event Coupons, but don't worry, we still want to get some Nin Credit in your pockets, you just will not see Nin Credit as a GM prize that often anymore. Those prizes will more likely be reserved for larger contests.

Event Updates
Last month, we had quite a few updates and news about events, and one new event announced were the Ninja Festivals. We also didn't do so well on getting more GM Roleplay events out, but this is what we will cover this month.

Weekly Community Events
With the monthly community newsletters, I'm going to start including a list of upcoming weekly events so that you can start preparing your submissions earlier, especially for events that may take time such as art, video production, writing, etc. However, I'll only name the title of the event so that the description remains a mystery, so be careful, some may have themes you won't know until the announcement is released. Please remember that submissions must be posted after the entry date (so like the video contest, you'll need to wait until its announced to post it).

April 2nd: Break Week for Chunin Exams
April 9th: Best Video Contest
April 16th: Jutsu Concept Contest
April 23rd: Group Photo Contest

We hope this gives you an idea of what's to come for our weekly community events, and hope you guys are enjoying them so far!

Roleplay Events
We will now be hosting Roleplay specific events more often. Events will sometimes be announced in the forum if there are prerequisites for the event, but will mainly be found on the Event Calendar. Some examples of these events will be Hide and Seek, Village Invasion, Escort/Delivery Missions, Ninja Wars, etc. Prizes for these events will be claimable through a present placed in your village.

Festival Event Feedback & Updates
The Spring Ninja Festival happened this past weekend, and it was quite the experience for me running a full scale event like that, but without a doubt, I am really happy with how well it went with my limited time to plan it out. I just kind of want to update you guys on a few things that will be changing for the Festivals to provide a more optimal experience for you guys.

1. The Festivals will now be a weekend long, rather than a day long. The events will be more spread out across the event, meaning more main events, but during times that feel more applicable to the majority (but we'll still do some events at off times for those who are online at other times).
2. The Festivals will now have automated events that will help you obtain more Festival Tokens. These events will kind of be like missions in the sense you'll be given tasks to finish the event.
3. The drop rates will go down drastically from the first Festival. It was not my original plan to have grinding be the primary form to get tokens, but because trading tokens as a GM is so limited, we offered this option. However, I'll be working with Sezu to develop cool ideas that will actually be implemented in the game to automatically provide options to gain tokens rather than grinding. We will still do drop rates, and it will probably always be an option, but we don't want to promote it.
4. The Festival Trials will change from festival to festival. I don't want to spoil what they may be in the summer, but it will not always require PvP skill. However, the Festival Trials will now feel more rewarding to people, even those who can't pass the trials.
5. We will be implementing more items that are more expensive. The base line for cosmetics is 1k, then there will be 5k and 10k Festival Token items. We will make sure they're well worth it, though. If you are seeing 10k and are freaking out because you knew how difficult it was to get Tokens, just remember we're making them easier to get, so don't worry. We'll make sure if you at least work for it, you'll get it.
6. The opening ceremony will happen at about 3:00 P.M. EST now rather than midnight. At first it was easier to do a 24 hour event by going from 12:00 A.M. EST to 12:00 A.M. EST, but since it is now a fully weekend, it feels more reasonable to make the time a time where more people can participate.
7. We will no longer do Peace Time since some people had issues and didn't understand the consequences, instead the maps will become No Zones in which we use for the festival, which we will be hopefully transitioning into more Festival-specific maps so we don't have to touch current maps at all.

The Summer Ninja Festival will be announced on May 31, 2018. We hope you're looking forward to the next one! (We will give Gold and Silver Ninja an early sneak peak of the cosmetic items about a week before the announcement, so if you want this opportunity, head over to the Cash Shop and pickup the Gold Ninja rank!)

Best Regards,
Jessica
